What is the UMC?
A 501(c) (3) non-profit music school located in Williamsport, PA Primary age range is kids 10-18 years old, but is open to all ages Offers private lessons at all levels on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals, as well as classes and workshops in music theory, songwriting, and styles such as the Blues, Jazz, Classical, Motwon and Rock Hosts over 100 community performances each year The UMC is teaching life lessons to children and ushering them into young adulthood through the discovery of music.

Community Involvement
Hosts benefit concerts each year to raise money for other non-profits. Examples of this include raising funds for: Haiti Relief, The Childrens Development Center, and the Wounded Warrior Project Volunteer performances at community events such as: First Fridays, CAPPA, the Little League World Series Williamsport Welcomes the World and the Fourth of July festivities Provides UMC scholarships for deserving students in the community who do not have the funds for UMC enrollment.
ABOUT WILLIAMSPORT, PA
Williamsport is located within Lycoming County in central Pennsylvania. With a population of 29,304 people, the city of Williamsport is ranked the 7th fastest growing city in the U.S. Recently, interest has grown in exploiting natural gas in the Williamsport area, which has been creating economic growth in the area. Williamsport is the home and birthplace of Little League baseball and hosts the annual Little League World Series every year. There are many community events associated with the Little League World Series including a parade and a festival known as Williamsport Welcomes the World. Art and entertainment is highly demanded for these events. With the growth of the annual 1st friday events, the increasing demand for live music from local businesses, and the sprouting art galleries, the art and music scene has become very prominent in the community within the last 10 years. The Uptown Music Collective has been on the fore-front of the this movement.

Hosting a performance is very expensive. Your money helps off- set the costs of the performances expenses. Things included within these expenses are: Renting the venue Paying the venues staff Stage decorations and props Advertising Artwork Printing costs T-shirts Performance rehearsals Teachers Photography
2012-2013 Performances
OCT 28/29
The recent death of Amy Winehouse added another name to the venerable 27 Club, a group of great musicians who died at the age of 27. This Halloween performance will include the music of Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Kobain, Amy Winehouse, and more.
DEC 22/23
A collaboration with the Community Theatre League, 42nd and Broadway will be the schools first performance at the CTL and our first Broadway review. This show will feature UMC students along side CTL regulars performing songs from contemporary musicals with a rock.
JAN 7
Last years collaboration with the Williamsport Youth Orchestra was a huge success. Featuring classics such as the Beatles Day in the Life and more. The concert was hailed by many as one of the UMCs best shows to date. This years performance is expected to be better.
