Happy Anniversary SI Honolulu! Wow, 75 years of improving the lives of women and girls. From now on, February 27th will be known as Soroptimist International of Honolulu Day in the state of Hawaii. CONGRATULATIONS. Thank you to those who came to the Next Step Project in January to help celebrate the birthdays of the children staying at the shelter. We had a bouncer, arts and crafts, balloon animals and cake and presents for the children. There were big smiles on the childrens faces. Congratulations to Tisha Villanueva and Jessica Lafaele, our clubs Womens Opportunity Awardees. What a moving and awesome experience it was to hear their stories at our joint club award banquet in March. This is why we work hard to fundraise and to keep our club fiscally sound. This award betters the lives of these women in many ways. It was a proud SIH moment. Also to our Violet Richardson Award winner Arisa Hirabayashi and our Ruby Award winner Dr. Nicole Littenberg. These women are a shining example of women helping women in our community and around the world. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Make sure to check out our upcoming events section and dont forget to save the date for our Soroptimist Annual Gala Fundraiser on August 24th, 2013. As I look ahead I am excited about what we have accomplished and for the future of our club. I know we are in for 75 more wonderful years!
