Key words: seventh graders, speaking skill, oral simulation technique In mastering English, speaking skill plays a significant role because speaking is the skill that is widely used by people especially when they are communicating with the others. Since speaking skill is very important, an appropriate teaching technique should be implemented to enhance the speaking ability of the students. It will be better if the technique enables the students to participate in speaking lesson. At SMPN 2 Mojokerto, the researcher found that the teacher taught speaking skill in a creative way that the students were willing to participate and enjoy the speaking lesson. The teaching technique that was used by the teacher to teach speaking skill of procedure text to seventh graders of SMPN 2 Mojokerto was oral simulation. Three research questions had been stated by the researcher to know the implementation of oral simulation technique, the difficulties that were faced by the teacher in implementing oral simulation technique, and the students response toward the oral simulation technique. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, therefore the researcher describes the findings in the form of words, not in the form of numbers. There are four research instruments that were used by the researcher. The first instrument was observation checklist that was used to know the implementation of oral simulation. The second instrument was field notes that were used to add some additional information that was not mentioned in the observation checklist. The third instrument was interview that was used to know the difficulties that were faced by the teacher. And the last instrument was questionnaire that was used to know students response toward the technique. According to the observations that were done by the researcher, oral simulation technique was an effective technique to make the students to participate in speaking lesson. The students also seemed enjoy the lesson well. However, there were some difficulties that were faced by the teacher when she was implementing this oral simulation technique. At the end of the observations, the researcher distributed questionnaires to the students to know their response toward oral simulation technique. From the result of the questionnaire, the researcher found that most of the students enjoyed the speaking lesson and argued that this technique helped them to speak up.
