NOTES FOR AUTHORS

Please read through the notes for authors and style guidelines before submitting a manuscript. A contributor is required to apply for a membership before the submission. All manuscripts should be submitted through web: http://chemistry.org.tw/public_jour.php. Please prepare a two-columned single file in a PDF file. Format should contain all schemes,
tables and figures integrated in the text. Crystallographic structure determinations should include the CIF file and CIF number. Supporting material is appended at the end with appropriate legends leading by a cover page of the title and authors. Preparations for Submission: (1) The title should convey to the readers the nature of the content of the paper. (2) The full name(s) of the author(s) should be provided. Authors having Chinese names should also state their names in Chinese characters in parentheses after the English names. The author(s) to whom correspondence should be addressed must be indicated with an asterisk. Complete addresses including postal code and email address should also be given. (3) The abstract should state briefly the motivation for the work and the main results and conclusions. Because the abstract is also used for information retrieval services, it should not contain references to schemes, equations or other material in the main text of the paper. The abstract of a full paper should be brief, of 200 words maximum; an abstract of a note or communication, less than 100 words, is also welcome. (4) The Keywords should be provided after the abstract. (5) Graphical content: Authors should provide a 60-word synopsis along with an informative illustration once the manuscript is accepted. The graphic is best and fit in size of 6 4 cm (width height). The resolution of bitmap graphics should be at least 600 dpi. (6) The text of a full paper should be organized under headings such as INTRODUCTION, RESULTS, DISCUSSION (or RESULTS AND DISCUSSION), and EXPERIMENTAL SECTION. For the purpose of clarity, subheadings may also be used. For notes or communications, it is not required for separate sections but limited to four printed pages including tables and figures. (7) Tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numbers. Table captions should be brief, but sufficiently clear so that they can be understood without reference to the text. Each table should be clearly separated and all tables should be collected at the end of the manuscript. (8) Figures should be prepared in PSD, TIFF or BMP format. All figures should be best in black or gray color in size of 8.4 21cm (width height). The resolution of bitmap graphics should be at least 600 dpi. The quality of the graphics in the Journals is determined by the quality of the originals provides by the authors. Figures should be numbered consecutively; the corresponding captions should be typed on a separate sheet and grouped with the figures at the end of the manuscript. Color reproduction of the figures is available with extra charge. (9) Both mathematical and chemical equations should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numbers in parentheses. Equations should be written properly to achieve maximum clarity. For example, the solidus (/) should normally be used to indicate division and exp(...) to represent exponential functions. (10) Experimental data should follow the international conventions. The presentation of new data should be in the following order: mp; [a]DTC; UV; IR; 1H NMR; 13C NMR; MS; HRMS; Anal. Calc. for CWHxNyOz: C; H; N. Found: C; H; N. (11) Nomenclature; units and abbreviations Nomenclature should conform to the IUPAC convention. The International System of Units (SI) should be used. The following common abbreviations and units are recommended: g for gram, mL for milliliter, NMR for nuclear magnetic resonance, UV for ultraviolet, IR for infrared, K for Kelvin, C for degree Celsius. Abbreviations should be used only if they can either increase the clarity of the paper or result in a significant saving of space. When there is a doubt about the meaning of an abbreviation, such as the first time when it appears, the term should be spelled in full, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. (12) Papers presenting crystallographic structure determinations should include the CIF file; the author is advised to pre-deposit the CIF file with deposit@ccdc.cam.ac.uk before submission. Please also use the free online Checkcif service provided by the International Union of Crystallography (checkcif@iucr.org) and submit the Checkcif report along with your manuscript. (13) References should be indicated consecutively in the text by superscript numerals, to the right of all punctuation. The complete list of references should be collected at the end of the paper in the following form: - Chen, M.-Y.; Fang, J.-M. J. Chin Chem. Soc. 1989, 36, 469. - Bernstein, R. B. Chemical Dynamics via Molecular Beam and Laser Techniques; Oxford: New York, 1982; Chapter 9. - Talley, L. D.; Lin, M. C. In Aspects of the Kinetics and Dynamics of Surface Reactions; Landman, U., Ed.; AlP Conference Proceedings, American Institute of Physics: New York, 1980; pp. 297-306. - Huang, C.-M. M. S. Thesis, Fu Jen Catholic University, June 1987. Abbreviations of journal titles should conform to the practice of Chemical Abstracts. (14) Language. If your native language is not English, please consider enlisting the help of an English-speaking colleague for the revision of your text before submitting the manuscript. Review and Revision of Manuscripts: Each manuscript submitted to the Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society is reviewed by anonymous referees. When revision is necessary, the manuscript with the comments of the referees is returned to the authors. Revised manuscripts must be returned within two months, otherwise it is considered to be withdrawn by the authors. The final decision on any manuscript rests with the Editor-in-Chief. At the discretion of the editor, the accepted manuscript may also be submitted to an English editor for revision in grammar and style. If extensive revisions are necessary, the editor, on the recommendations of the English referee, may request that the manuscript be rewritten.
