Objective:

Create a brochure fit for the company Show design principles and create a brochure will want to pick up.

Process:

A design layout was chosen and then images had to be found on google. Once they were found some where blended together in Photoshop to create a nice effect. I created an 11x17 document and labeled each section so I wouldnt get confused. I inserted my images, cropping some to make it fit. Then was the text that was added, and it mostly spoke about the cvompany. Some of the images were text wrapped. I created two bars on the top to give it repitition and good design.

Programs/Tools:
Adobe Indesign Adobe Illustrator

Objective:

Create a new logo to fit a company. Design a consistent image and layout for a business card and letterhead.

Process:

It started by creating a new logo that was simple and got to the point. I went into Illustrator and created a snowboard using the elipse tool and gave it a simple striped design. Then with Rosewood text put the word King inside. Went into InDesign and made a 3.5x2 box to see the limitation. Inserted my logo at the top right, and put my contact info on the bottom right. Then using Illustrator I made a simple mountain with a snowboarder and placed that in the background of the business card.

I took the same logo and mountain figure, but got rid of the tiny snowboarder. I created two dotted lines on the top and bottom to kind of show the limit of the letter. And then finished.

Programs/Tools:
Adobe Indesign

Objective: Process:

Learn how to use Indesign and perfect the principles of good design. Started out by creating a couple sketch ideas on a sheet of paper while trying to use a variety of images and text ideas. Next I chose which images and texts fonts I desired to use, and then threw them on the page. After having placed them randomly i began to move things around the page many times to get a feel of what would look good. When finished moving things around I added a few things to make the flier look a little nicer, along with sizing certain fonts and making images bigger to fit. Then I polished it using the comments other classmates had given me.

I cropped the image to be 6x6 and selected a certain part of it. Using the selection tool I selected the blue car, wheels and all. I inversed my selection to select everything but the car. I got rid of all color by turning down the saturation. Then added a Film Grain filter. Afterwards I put the edited image on a white background.

Programs/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator

Objective: Process:

Learn how to use Illustrator. Create a logo to represent the company. Started out by making a few sketches of King Custom Snowboards. About 9 were made. I chose the three I liked the most and tried to find fonts that matched the ones I had drawn. After that I drew the little men on the two where theyre found. I made the top logo blue and a little faded to make it kind of look like snow and added a line to the g to make a slope for the boarder. The second logo is in the shape of a triangle with the word King in the middle, the K being the outside. The triangle represents a mountain and I put a boarder on the outside and a background that was bluish. The third logo is similar but the I is completely different. The I is a snowboard made by the elipse tool.

A simple montage of the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower found in Paris with a memorable quote. 2/16/2013

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 5 Eric Lybbert

Programs/Tools:
Adobe Photoshop

Objective:

Learn how to blend in photoshop. Inspire those who see it that they to can create something magnificient.

Process:

I started out with choosing a photo that I took from my mission of the Arc de Triomphe. This was my background. I cropped it to 8.5 x 11 and then got rid of a few awkward things on the picture like a light pole and part of a tree hanging off the edge. I did this by selecting them and then using Fill-content aware to get rid of them. I then went online to find a better picture of the eiffel tower than the ones I had. I put in in the project and gradually blended it into the background using the sky as a common color. I sharpened the image of the eiffel tower. Then added my phrase using two different fonts. One font for the words and then another for the # symbol.

I put in all new paragraphs describing how the logo was made and also added an unordered list and an ordered list. Also I added an hr line. I then went into my css file and changed some things. started with the font families. I changed them to sansserif and modern. The colors were next. I changed them to match the logo and also created a whole new tag so all the paragraphs would have a color background as well and changed their font to white. The other fonts were changed to match the color of the logo as well. The logo was next where I centered it using an img tag in the css file.
