I. SCOPE : - This specification covers the supply of outdoor low voltage power capacitor 20KVAR intended for power correction of low alternating voltage power system. II. STANDARDS OF MANUFACTURE AND TEST : - IEC 831 : Shunt power capacitors of the self healing type for AC systems having a rated voltage up to and including 660 V. III. DESCRIPTION : A. SERVICE CONDITIONS : The capacitor shall be designed and fabricated, suitable for outdoor service in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam under the following conditions: - Altitude : Up to 40m above sea level - Ambient air temperature : + Maximum : 55C + Highest mean over any period of 24 hours : 45C + Highest mean over any period of 01 year : 35C - Maximum relative humidity : 95% - Climate : Tropical, salty atmosphere, industrial contamination. - Solar radiation : 1000W/m2 - Maximum wind velocity : 30m/s - Lightning stroke expectancy : 120 thunderstorm days per year. B. CONSTRUCTION : : outdoor. : 400V. : three. : Delta. : 20 KVAR. : 28.9A : 50 Hz. : 110 % Un for 12hours in 24 hours. - Maximum continuous current : 130 % off rated current. - Maximum permissible capacity : 135% of nominal rating. - Tolerance of capacitance : - 5 % to + 10 % of rated value. - Inter-phase unbalance factor of capacitance : 105 % - Power losses of dielectric : 0.2 W/kvar. - BIL : 15 kV. - Power frequency withstand voltage test + Between terminals : 1000 VAC / 1 minute.

Safety, not tank-rupture even fault situation. - Terminals : for copper conductor of 25mm2 up to 50mm2. - Internal fuse. - All necessary studs, connectors and earth bars shall be provided to permit the connection of all metal works and electrical equipment to earth. IV.TESTING REQUIREMENTS : 1. Testing items : a. Routine tests : - Capacitance measurement. - Capacitor loss tangent (tan) measurement. - Voltage test between terminals. - Voltage test between terminals and container. - Internal discharge device. - Sealing test. b. Type tests : - Thermal stability test. - Capacitor loss tangent (tan) measurement at elevated temperature. - Voltage test between terminals and container. - Lightning impulse test between terminals and container. - Short circuit discharge test.

2. Requirements : In order to ensure the quality of supplied goods , in case of bid winning , the Tenderer shall supply routine test and copies of type test report met the following requirements: a. Routine test shall be performed for each equipment. b. Type test report shall meet the followings :

- Testing sample : The same as the supplied item (manufacturer, original country, manufactures code as specified in tender document). - Testing items : Including testing items according to IEC 831. - Testing values shall be corresponding values as stated in Section III of this specification. If in section III, there are no corresponding values, testing values will be selected according to the standard specified in section II of this specification. V. REQUIREMENT OF TECHNICAL TENDER DOCUMENT : Technical description, data sheets, catalogues and other material submitted with the quotation must enable the buyer's engineers to thoroughly evaluate the proposals as to its compliance with the inquiry specifications. Minimum requirements :

+ Detailed summary of deviations to inquiry specification. + Completed inquiry data sheet expressed at clause VI. + Brochures and catalogues containing outline dimensions, main electrical data and installation details. + Routine test and type tests comply with the relevant standard. + Certificate of quality management. The proposal bidding has Type Test Report which meets the requirements as specified in item IV 2.b will be preferable.
