Sacrament of the Sick In the event of serious illness or medical emergency, Anointing of the Sick and Eucharist may be arranged by contacting the Parish Office. Call (949) 257-8017 for a medical emergency after 8 p.m. Sacrament of Baptism Parents of infants requesting information about Baptism may contact the Faith Formation Office, 496-6011. Infant Baptisms are celebrated on the first and third Sunday of each month following catechesis for parents and godparents of candidates. Celebration of Christian Funerals At the time of death, a family member should contact the parish office, as soon as possible, to arrange the date and time for the Funeral Liturgy. Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Adults requesting information about full initiation and communion with the Roman Catholic Church (the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) may contact the Faith Formation Office , 4966011. Sacrament of Matrimony The Sacrament presumes active sacramental participation on the part of one or both persons. Couples must begin preparation for their Sacrament at least six months prior to their proposed wedding date. Please call the Parish Office for more information. Eucharistic Adoration On the first and third Monday of each month we gather in prayer and praise before the Blessed Sacrament. I would encourage people to see the Cathedral grounds in person to fully appreciate all that it has to offer. Pictures, articles, videos, etc. cannot take the place of what the eye can see. What I found unique and very dramatic was the abstract vision of Jesus rising from the dead located in the Crean Tower, Mary Hood Chapel. After reading Brother William J. Woeger's comment in the Orange County Catholic, he stated that the present Cathedral is a place that's been made holy by worship, and it will continue to be holy ground. As Christ Cathedral it will become a Catholic holy place.

Traces of Grace
Dear fellow parishioners; Easter Sunday afternoon, Fr. Chris and I were cleaning up a bit in the church after all the masses. There was a certain solemnity of silence after all the crowds had cleared and gone off to other things. We both agreed that there is a certain quiet joy that we both felt. Not that we were glad everyone had gone home, but rather the feeling that all the extra effort was truly satisfying. And so I would like to thank the liturgy committees, the environment committees for both St. Edward and San Felipe who spent many hours cleaning, decorating, and preparing the churches and the halls for the special Holy Week liturgies. The regular maintenance crew, parking attendants who dodge cars, the staff who manage things so well and the priests who prayed the liturgies in the spirit of Holy Week all stepped up big time. For this I am very thankful! I am especially thankful for the RCIA teams of both communities who prepared those who entered the fullness of the Catholic Faith at our Easter Vigil Services. It was a night of joy! Finally, for all of you who walked the journey of deepening faith in this Lenten season, for those who joined us for the Triduum liturgies and Easter Sunday. Thank you for being such a tremendous community of faith. Algo que me pareci muy singular y dramtico fue la visin abstracta de Jess al resucitar de entre los muertos situada en la Torre Crean, en la Capilla Mara Hood. Despus de leer el comentario del Hermano William J. Woeger en el peridico Catlico, el dijo que la actual Catedral es un lugar que ha sido santificada por la adoracin, y lo seguir siendo tierra santa. En la catedral de Cristo se convertir en un lugar catlico y santo."

Rasgos de Gracia
Queridos feligreses; En la tarde del domingo de Pascua, el Padre Chris y yo estbamos limpiando un poco la iglesia despus de todas las misas. Haba un silencio total en la iglesia, despus de que toda la multitud se haba ido. Los dos sentamos una cierta alegra silenciosa. No es que estbamos contentos porque todos ustedes ya se haban ido a casa, sino ms bien la satisfaccin de alegra por todo el esfuerzo hecho en estos ltimos das. Me gustara dar gracias a todos los comits de liturgia, a las personas que estuvieron a cargo de la toda la decoracin, tanto como en San Eduardo y San Felipe, ellos pasaron muchas horas limpiando, decorando la iglesia y pasillos para la celebracin de Semana Santa. Al equipo de mantenimiento, a los que trabajaron el estacionamiento, a todo el personal que estuvo involucrado para que todo saliera bien, a los sacerdotes que nos acompaaron en la Semana Santa, todos se esforzaron muchsimo. Por todo esto estoy muy agradecido! Estoy especialmente agradecido con los miembros de RICA en ambas comunidades, ellos prepararon a los que entraron en la plenitud de la fe catlica en la Vigilia Pascual. Fue una noche de inmensa alegra! Por ltimo, a todos los que caminaron por el camino para una mayor profundizacin de su fe en este tiempo de Cuaresma, por los que nos acompaaron en el Triduo Pascual y el Domingo de Pascua. RESPECT LIFE
Roe v. Wade was going to set everybody free, said Vicki Thorn, executive director of Project Rachel, a Catholic post-abortive healing ministry that receives assistance from the Knight of Columbus. We as women had the right to choose. We could be in the workplace without this complication of a pregnancy.
