PROFESSIONAL STATEMENT Practicum has been considered as a side where student

teachers practice the art of teaching in real school context with student teachers assigned to one another and class for specific block of time (Zeichner, 1996). I had been assigned to do my practicum

at SK Kem Terendak 2 for 12 weeks, beginning from 28th January until 26th April 2013. During the practicum we had been assigned to teach English (major) and Science (minor). My expectations for this practicum are to try to collect as much experience I can get. Besides that this is my opportunity to practice all the theory that had been taught in two semester of lecture. It was quite an exciting but yet challenging opportunity because I knew that different school had a different atmosphere and way of doing thing. What had been taught during the lecture might not been practice in the school. Therefore as a student teacher I must able to adapt and adopt with the environment and to make sure that I can be part of the school community even though it was only for three months. Preparation is an essential when we going to do something that are very important. Therefore before went to the school I makes sure that I had prepared the reading material, reference book and print out some of the activity that might be useful for me during the practicum. I make sure that I am fit mentally, physically,

emotionally and spiritually to show that I am capable to start the live as a practicum teacher. Other than that I would tried to be as

friendly as possible with all the staff and teacher when join the school because getting close and be friendly is not my strong point. I used to do thing on my own and believe that whenever I do thing good and never burden others my life would be just fine, but for this coming practicum I would always reminding myself that it was a short period of time therefore It would be more beneficial to me and less time consuming if I am able to get the knowledge from the senior and experience teacher there. I believed that many years of teaching experience was so precious and it would be easier if they willing to share with me their knowledge. Therefore be such a friendly person would be such a good thing to do whenever we were at new place, in a short time and tried to get as many knowledge about subject matter.

Being a practicum student teacher for this three months also required me to make sure that I able to reach the school on time or earlier. It is because it was quite a long distance travel that I had to make every day from my house to the school. I would make sure that every day I must came early to the school to avoid any problem that I might been face in the future. I also will always keep keep on reminding myself to avoid procrastination because it would keep me in trouble. I would make sure I always keep on updating my portfolio to avoid any complication and confusion later on. I hope in the end of my practicum I would be able to fully understand the

full scope of teacher role. I should be able to achieve my objectives whenever I teaching at class and besides that also know how to conduct a curriculum activity or any program that been held in the school. I believed that teacher expertise is the most important element that would determine the pupils achievement and as trained teacher I want to become an effective teacher than I was before and face the challenge of teaching the Y and Z generations.
