Theme Parks White Water World

The latest addition to the theme park family on the Gold Coast, White Water World currently lays claim to the worlds first and only eight lane waterslide racer. The B.R.O or Blue Ring Octopus sees riders career around 120 metres of winding tentacle like tracks and reaching speeds of up to 50 kmh. If the B.R.O isnt enough to get your juices flowing, your next stop has to be the Super Tubes HydroCoaster, an 18 metre high, 236 metre long track of pure exhilaration. This water based rocket features the latest in waterslide technology, propelling riders through terrifying turns, surprise drop-offs and the steepest of inclines all in the name of heartpumping entertainment. This 28 second thrill ride is one of only two of its kind in the world and will leave you shocked, stunned and lining up for more. The Green Room is the latest addition to White Water World that is really drawing the crowds in. A $1.5 million watery weapon of mass exhilaration designed to replicate surfing a massive tube, it towers 20 metres above the ground and filters riders from a 75 metre tunnel into a 15 metre funnel before dropping them out the bottom. Just in case you havent had enough, the Super Tubes Hydro Coaster, The Rip and Cave of Waves will continue to keep you occupied while for the kids, the Little Rippers cannon bowl and Nickelodeon Pipeline Plunge will provide hours of entertainment.

Dreamworld
Well before it became the home of Big Brother Australia, Dreamworld on the Gold Coast made its name as the home of the Big 5 Thrill Rides. The name says it all when it comes to Australias biggest water theme park, Wet n Wild on the Gold Coast. The first stop for most is the Kamikaze, a unique combination wet/dry attraction and the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere. Water spray jets provide a seamless surface on the giant U-shaped slide as rafts are channelled furiously to the bottom. Tamborine National Park Review

More than 20 million years ago, volcanic eruptions created rugged landscapes, while fertile volcanic soils produced the luxuriant tracts of rain forest that make up enchanting Tamborine National Park. This is the most developed region of the Gold Coast Hinterland, and it's worth spending a day or two here. Apart from the natural environment, there are wineries, lodges, restaurants, and the famed Gallery Walk, a 1-km-long (-mi-long) street lined with art galleries. Some of the simplest (under two hours) and best trails here are the Cedar Creek Falls Track, with waterfall views; Palm Grove Rainforest Circuit; and Macdonald Rainforest Circuit, a quieter walk popular with bird-watchers. Start your visit with a stop at Tamborine Mountain Visitor Information Centre, open 10 am to 3 pm daily. Several fragmented parks make up Tamborine National Park. To the east of Witches Falls is Joalah National Park, where a 1-km (1-mi) circuit takes you to a rocky pool at the base of Curtis Falls. Witches Falls. Queensland's first national park, Witches Falls, has excellent picnic facilities and a 3-km (2-mi) walk that snakes downhill through open rain forest and past lagoons.

Food Peters Fish Market

It was located in Main Beach right behind the luxury Versace hotel.. it was quite confusing for us since the area is quite high-class.. but between the luxurious buildings, there, the simple and humble stall of Peter's Fish Market. Basically, it is really a fish market. you'll find lots of fresh seafood just like you'll find in the supermarket.. the choice is yours.. you can pick whatever seafood you like at any weight then take it to the cashier, make your choice of cooking, pay and you will get a number.. once your dishes are ready, the cashier will call you by your number and you have to pick your orders.. or, if you're amateurs like us, just go to the cashier, choose from the available menu, make your payment and get your number.. I think I don't have to re-emphasize that we, the young ladies, have no clue at all on how to choose fish or shrimps or any other seafood.. so, we're taking the short cuts and made our orders based on what's written on the black board.. our choices went to their specials, fish of the day, small calamari, 2 prawn cutlets, seafood stick and small chips (AUD16.00).. other than that, we had prawn skewer(around AUD3.00) and grilled snapper in lemongrass sauce (around AUD13.00).. one important thing is there will be no free sauce given, instead, we have to buy it.. a small container of sweet chili andtartar sauce each cost us AUD2.00.. that is almost equivalent to Rp20,000 each! since the place was quite packed, we waited quite a while.. until finally we heard our number being called.. dinner is served!

Run by four very cool young guys originally from the Sunshine Coast, Black Coffee Lyricsis the place to be seen on the coast. So hip it hurts, the caf turns from its daytime trade to an awesome bar with themed nights throughout the week (dont miss the Mexican bingo nights). The breakfasts are famous (the eggs smothered in basil cream is the stuff of dreams) and the coffee is ground exclusively for the caf. With board games, books and great music playing its a place to linger. In fact, its so hot the venue was named in the Top 5 Peoples Choice in The Australians Top 50 Hottest Restaurants, up there with Vue de Monde and Flying Fish. Not bad!

Lamb shoulder. Thats all you need to know to add Hellenika to your list of must-tries. This Greek restaurant in Nobbys Beach not only has some of the best atmosphere and dcor along the coast, it also has the juiciest, falling-off-the bone lamb shoulder to be eaten. Ever. Hellenika is on the side of one of the busiest highways in Australia, however the unlikely setting makes the cosy and welcoming atmosphere inside even more surprising. Owned by a Greek and with an Irish head chef, the food is traditional but with a modern take. Its also one of the best spots for a long Sunday lunch, just be prepared to leave full!
