INTRODUCTION

Home automation is not a new concept in todays world, it is used to provide convenience for user to remotely control and monitor the appliances and it provides a better use of electricity. The efficient use of electricity makes the home automation to play an important role in daily life. As by the growth of PC (personal computers), internet, mobile phone and wireless technology makes it easy for a user to remotely access and controls the appliances. A lot of research has been done and many solutions have been proposed to remotely access the HOME appliances. Some of them used internet, wireless technology to communicate and control home appliances, others used Bluetooth and GSM technology for controlling the home appliances. Proposed method reduces the wiring and complexity of the system. It has no geographical limitation and can be used on any GSM network; it provides portability to the system. It is mainly focused on the elderly people, disables and for the people who are unable to type text or face difficulties in typing. For the disable people, it is quite difficult to operate the home appliances physically or they are unable or feel uncomfortable to type a text so as to switch on/off the relative device . So a system has been developed to monitor the Appliances remotely by simply running the mobile application and giving voice command. The mobile application efficiently converts the voice command to text and transfers it to the GSM network. It is affordable to everyone, cheap and easy to install. As there is no wired communication between the remote user and appliances control module and the electronic devices used to control are easily available making it a cost effective solution. Speech is an important form of communication. As people got acquainted with sophisticated equipment that aid them in day to day activities, the demand for such devices is increasing every day. With the development and maturity of speech compression/decompression and speech recognition, speech is becoming an important form of man-machine interface. Recent development has made it possible to use speech recognized devices in different areas. With the advance in technology, speech based devices have come into use which are employed in various home appliances, security systems and in the area of telecommunications. Home Automation industry is growing rapidly. This is driven by the need to provide supporting systems for the elderly and the disabled, especially those who live alone. The home automation system is intended to control all lights and electrical appliances in a home or office using voice commands.

Designing a home automation system for monitoring and controlling various devices in remote locations can be done through a variety of communication options such as cellular network, wireless LAN technologies, dial-up modems, private radio networks, Internet, and so on. Operating home appliances through speech is growing rapidly. In the present paper we propose a wireless home automation system using speech recognition. The environmental impacts of the todays fossil-fuel dependent economy should be considered todays energy sources and operating method. We should decide about the best way to increase quantities of energy hidden under the worlds energy system, which could yield far more energy than the traditional energy operating system or earths remaining reserves of fossil fuel. We should also develop methods to increase energy efficiency. We have to develop new ways to more efficiently utilize todays energy sources through the development of energy-saving methods. Micromodel is one of these approaches to save energy.

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION

The system captures human voice using a sampling rate ( fs ) of 8 kHz. It is known that the highest frequency component of the human voice is 20 kHz, however the most significant parts of the information is encoded in frequencies between 6 Hz and 3.5 kHz. To meet Nyquist sampling criteria, an anti-aliasing filter is used to block all the frequencies above the Nyquist frequency (Fn ). At First, the microphone captures the speech signal. The incoming audio stream is then segmented for recognition using the module. The stream is transmitted from speech interface to the recognition engine where the recognition procedure is carried out. Our recognition engine employed is Microsoft Speech Recognition. Finally the recognition result is executed when results are satisfied with voice using V/NV classification module. As Soon as the Voice is matched with the saved voice or Correct password is Spoken by the user the system gets activated and the provide access to the user. Default Voice Codes are saved in the system and using the same codes user can switch on the home appliances. Particular relay gets energized on specific voice command. ULN 2804 IC is used as interface medium between high load and low current transmission that microcontroller with relay and other devices too. The Max 232 is used voltage level converter IC which is used to level the voltages from the PC/ Laptop and From the Microcontroller Circuitry.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The impact of home automation on domestic lifestyles will be as far ranging as was that of factory automation on industry and its benefits will be available to all sectors of society. Home automation can be achieved not only with the household robot but with embedded computing power and memory within dozens of pieces of domestic equipment, each of which can communicate with the user and with other equipments. Within the integrated home system the communication media will include infra-red, radio, mains wires, installed twisted wires and coaxial cable, and later perhaps optical fiber. Applications will include security, lighting, heating, cooking, washing appliances, audio and video systems, energy management as well as a number of new applications such as health monitoring, home publishing and entertainment. For example, when the heating system is linked to home automation, home always keeps the room temperature at the level set by the owner and money is saved on top of that. That way humans not only always have a healthy climate at home, but also economize on costs; saving up to %30 a year just from a heating system with individual room control and window monitoring. Consumption management is good for even more, though, such as automatically switching highconsumption devices on like the washing machine during those times of the day when rates are the lowest. Remote controlling or monitoring can be achieved with that system. So life may be more comfortable and more secure.

APPLICATIONS
Power Consumption can be minimized, reducing the Electricity Bill. It can be applied to house, industries, and offices reducing the man work.
It is affordable to everyone, cheap and easy to install.

ADVANTAGES
Appliances controlled by human voice Power Saving. Economical. Easily accessible.

DISADVANTAGES
For Proper Running laptop/Computer should be On Always. Speech Recognition Problem. Limitation for Disabled persons.
