INTRODUCTION

As per syllabus of he two yrs degree course of master of business administration every student has to under go a practical training of 60 working days in his /her field of interest. This training is divided into two parts. The first fifteen days are for a rotational training in the organization to learn more about the organization and rest 45 days are to be devoted to doing a project i.e. generally to be assigned by the person under whom one posted during that period. I under went practical training at HDFC- SLIC, Jodhpur . Practical training is an essential part of management studies as it helps one to visualize the management practices in the field, the theoretical aspects of which we have learned in the classroom. Then one has to present a report, which is to be in to parts, the first part devoted to giving a profile of the organization and the second part containing the project on which one has worked during the training period. Thus this training bridges the gap between theory and practices. This report is an attempt to present some aspects some aspect of the practical training taken by me. The topic of the project undertaken by me is Consumer Perception About Private Life Insurance Company With Special Emphasis On Convention Plan. This report was allowed by Mr. Deepak Jain (Resident manager, sales) under whom I was posted during the duration of my training. The study was taken up with the objective of insurance Sector in India, role of HDFC-SLIC an its financial consultants recruitment process. The study covers the area of extrication the preference of Insurance users. The also congruently finds the trends in the

insurance market. The objective of practical project to find out to analyze the strategies followed by HDFC-SLIC for recruit ion the financial consultant and various supports and training provided by the company for increasing the market share of HDFC-SLIC products. The study also emphasized on certain key factors that help a financial consultant to influence the a customer to purchase a particular brand etc. Keeping in view the time, financial and other constraints of and study to e taken, and the study were centralized to the JODHPUR CITY. F.C. recruitment was provided to the customers interested along with various insurance plans and schemes. The names & contact no of each and every customer was note so as to take the follow up afterwards after completion of calls made and fairs of all these persons were called up in order to know their interest about investments in various insurance schemes and recruitment. The research method followed, which appeared convenient, was selective census survey method. The reason for selecting this methods was to understand the profile o the consumers on whose basis some important conclusions can be drawn.
