SITE NAME: This site was formerly know as West Auxiliary Field No. 5 Military Reservation. LOCATION: The site is located in Fresno County, approximately 22 miles southwest of Lemoore, California (Figure 1 and Figure 2). SITE HISTORY: The United States acquired 522.32 acres by Declaration of Taking sometime following 08 September 1942. The site was used by the Army as an auxiliary field. There are no records of improvements to the site by the Army. On 20 September 1946, the War Assets Administration, assumed accountability for the 522.32-acres site. The site is presently owned by Clear Creek Farms, Willow Springs Farms Inc., Everette & Evelyn Rank, and Jordan & Geraldine Telford. SITE VISIT: On 22 September 1992, Lisa Valdez and Jim Corbett of Radian Corporation visited the site. The site consists of three parcels which are presently planted in Almond trees. The orchard is managed by Westside Heritage, Inc., a custom farm management company. There was no visible evidence of any structures, USTs, or former DOD activities at the site. Sometime after 8 September 1942, the United States acquired 522.32 fee acres by Declaration of Taking. Total acreage acquired for the site was 522.32.

On 20 September 1946, the War Assets Administration, assumed accountability for 3. the 522.32 acres site. The site is presently owned by Clear Creek Farms, Willow Springs Farms Inc., Everette & Evelyn Rank, and Jordan & Geraldine Telford. The site is presently used for agricultural farming.
Based on the foregoing findings of fact, the site has been determined to be formerly used by the DOD. Therefore, it is eligible for the Defense Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites, established under 10 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.
