Minutes of the Meeting

12 March, 2013 I. Call to order Kristyl Bern Ponferrada, JPIA President, called to order the very first meeting of the Xavier University Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (XU-JPIA) at 11:00am on March 12, 2013 at Balingasag, Misamis Oriental. II. Attendance Officers Present: JPIA President- Kristyl Bern Ponferrada Secretary General- Sheena Josel Abne Treasurer- Rhecin Glenale Bonalos Vice-President for Academics-Francois Cabiladas Vice-President for Non-academics- Kevin James Umali Vice -President for Audit- Marianne Delle Lagumbay Vice- President for Communications- Michael Andrew Sy Vice -President for Membership- Leah Angeli Odchigue 3rd Year Representative-Catherine Joy Tugap (excused) Officers Absent: Vice -President for Finance- Joan Grace Bual (excused) 3rd Year Representative- Eman Cervantes (excused) III. Agenda General Plan of Activities (GPOA), A.Y. 2013-2014 Seniors Night JPIA CAMP 2 IV. Matter Arising 1. The newly elected JPIA officers prepared and outlined the activities for the upcoming academic year. During the meeting, the officers came up with a myriad of activities that cater to the different needs of the members. 2. This school year it was decided that there will be additional activities offered to the members of the organization during the summer term. They are as follows: Academic Guild Examination, Comprehensive Review for seniors, and Sportsfest.

3. The budget of the organization for the whole year was estimated and allocated by the officers to the different proposed projects. 4. The proposed date for the start of the campaign for membership is on April 22, 2013. 5. Ms. Ponferrada also presented new goals that should be met by the officers. The first was to strengthen the communication system of the organization through the use of social networking sites and print ads. She also hinted the necessity to gain funds to add to the existing budget for the year-round activities. This could be made possible through profitgenerating activities and sponsorships. She stressed the organizations responsibility to the society and the need for social involvement. Ms. Ponferrada cited the activity I AM ACCOUNTABLE among others to address this need. 6. The staff for the JPIA Camp 2 was chosen and committees were formed with respect to the said event. 7. The title and venue for the JPIA Camp 2 are yet to be decided by the officers. The proposed date for the event is on June 7-9, 2013. Details about the camp will be further discussed next meeting. V. Adjournment Having covered all items for discussion, Kristyl Bern Ponferrada formally adjourned the meeting at 5:30 in the afternoon. Minutes submitted by: Sheena Josel Abne
