EXAMINATION GUIDELINES FOR BMOM 5203 ORGANIZATIONAL & BUSINESS MANAGEMENT 1.

The date, time and place for this paper have been announced by the Exam Unit. Make sure you sit for the correct subject, which is the above (not BMOM 5103 Organizational Management), and receive the correct Question Paper. 2. The paper consists of 2 parts, A & B. Part A contains 2 questions, all to be answered. There are 5 questions in Part B of which you have to answer 3. The time is 3 hours. The mark for each question is indicated at the end of the question. 3. The questions will cover the whole course. Specifically, the questions will be related to the following subjects:3.1 Functions of management and management skills 3.2 Planning including strategic management 3.3 Organizing including organizational change 3.4 Human resource management (HRM) 3.5 Leadership including theories, powers and types of leadership 3.6 Motivation including theories and ways to enhance performance 3.7 Ethics and corporate responsibility 3.8 Control 4. The relevant chapters from the textbook are Chs 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18. 5. How to answer? Ill leave this to your ingenuity. One way is answering to the point, strengthened by definitions, authors views, theories, research findings and well-known examples (e.g. case studies in textbook). Be clear, articulate and persuasive. I would expect a graduate level answer. 6. Pl write legibly. All the more so when you have 3 hours to write, and in longhand. 7. Good luck!
