GENERAL REQUIREMENTS 1.

Electrical wiring for emergency systems should be in metal conduits or from cables that have fire-resistant mineral insulators 2. All structural elements must have fire resistance duration according to UBBL 1884 3. Ventilation system for emergency staircases, whether passively or mechanically 4. Usage of LPG must follow conditions stipulated in MS 830 and MS 930. Please attach complete plan to this Department. 5. For building over 30m, all staircases that are proposed for emergency exits must be extended to roof level to enable access to it 6. All emergency fire-safety signs must comply with MS 982:1985 7. Graphic design floor plan with white background that indicates location of emergency staircases, fire escape routes, emergency exits and locations of fire-safety equipment. Placement of fire safety equipment must be easily seen. 8. Attach herewith 3 sets of operation booklets according to conditions stipulated by the Fire and Safety Department of Malaysia

PASSIVE REQUIREMENTS 1. Usage of ceiling must be compliant to UBBL 1984, Schedule 8 2. All fire escape staircases must be surrounded by a brick wall of thickness 155mm or open staircase according to UBBL 1984 3. Fire retardant door of duration 1 hour. Fixtures must be enclosed tightly

4. Compartment wall of thickness 112mm/225mm brick built up to roof/floor level indicated on plan 5. Wall of store room that is characterized as dangerous should have thickness 100mm brick and a fire retardant door of 1 hour duration with door closer 6. Break point on wall outside building to ease procedures of firemen 7. Roller shuttle (fire retardant of 2/4 hours) as indicated in plan 8. Usage of glass on exterior faade must comply with of firemen 9. Service shafts must be closed at all floors with fire retardant of 2 hour duration 10. Rooms with fire department pumps and generators must be built from brick walls with fire retardation of 2 hours. Its doors must have fire retardation of 1 hour 11. Partition walls must be brick of thickness 200mm (load bearing). This wall must be built to roof level or of a design approved by Fire Department 12. All partition walls (internal) must be fire retardant of half an hour must be approved by the Fire Department 13. Partition walls between factories and offices must be of thickness 115mm/225mm and built up to roof level as indicated in plan 14. Fire resistance at roof region along the trusses at distance 7.5m or every 25msq 15. Deflector wall as long as 450mm and 115mm thickness as indicated in plan

SITE PLAN Two-way fire hydrant which gives out 1135 liters of water a minute as indicated on plan As above, with distance of 91.5m Two-way fire hydrant that gives out 1362 liters of water a minute per hydrant and 2724/4086 liters of water when 2/3 hydrants are used at once (pressurized hydrants).
