EXTRAORDINARY EARLY CONSIGNMENTS CONFIRMED FOR BONHAMS ANNUAL QUAIL LODGE AUCTION
San Francisco Now revving up for its 16th year, Bonhams is assembling an impressive line-up of the finest motorcars for its annual summer auction, held in Carmel during the world-renowned Monterey Peninsula Car Week. Among the list of early consignments is a barn-find 1972 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale that has remained untouched for the last 30 years. This early Bertone example is in highly original and sound condition and has been in the same southern California ownership since the early 1980s. Another Lancia, the famous 1957 Aurelia B24S Cabriolet, which is eminently blessed with speed, comfort and grace, is also confirmed. Eligible for all the great international vintage touring events, this is a well-maintained example of a highly sought after model. 1

A 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, the final iteration of this iconic sportscar, has also joined Bonhams line-up. Featuring the alloy engine block and four-wheel disc brake system, it is a fully documented, matching numbers car and benefits from a comprehensive restoration by a renowned marque expert. Also confirmed is the ex-Works 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 MkII 767 KNX the sole factory entry in the 12 Hours of Sebring that year where it was co-driven by the legendary Paddy Hopkirk. Later achieving admirable finishes in races at Oulton Park and twice at the Targa Florio, its one of the most historically significant big Healey racers and has been the recent subject of an exquisite concours condition restoration. And representing the pioneers is a rare 1914 American Underslung Tourer with impressive provenance. Formerly part of the William Harrah Collection, this unique and original automobile is the only example of its kind in private ownership.
