Tulsa County GOP State Committee Members

April Report

By State Committeemember TC Ryan April 10, 2013 Let me rst begin by saying thank you for electing me your Tulsa County State Committeeman! It was and has been overwhelming and extremely humbling to receive so much support. Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement! Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending Understanding Agenda 21 A Symposium, put on by the Tulsa 9.12 project. Author Rosa Koire, Behind The Green Mask, was the keynote speaker and also happens to be a Democrat, http:// www.democratsagainstunagenda21.com. Its encouraging to hear from someone on the other side of the aisle passionately speaking on the need for strong property rights and in protecting the liberty of the individual. Please visit her website or order her book to get more information on this subject. I also attended the Wagoner County GOP monthly meeting as a guest. Its good to see what our neighboring counties are accomplishing. The spirit of grassroots conservatism was overwhelming throughout the meeting. It is clear that politics as usual does not have a home in Wagoner County and that policy will be the focus. Good things are coming for and from Wagoner County! April 19 will be my rst state committee meeting as an elected member. After the convention I will give a full report of that meeting. We don't have that much longer until the state convention here! Who is ready?! One of the reasons I ran for State Committeeman is that I believe the grassroots is the Republican Party and to have effective change, we must be willing to be involved and active. This year we will elect a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman for our Republican party. The exciting news is that one of our very own, Amanda Teegarden, is running for that position! Amanda has been very active in statewide grassroots organizations and with conservative causes. I have full condence in Amanda Teegardens ability to lead our party forward, in the right direction, towards liberty and conservatism. David Weston is also running for Chair, as well as Denise Crosswhite Hader, Sara Jo Odom, and Richard Engle for Vice-Chair. Please attend and let your voice be heard! I look forward to seeing you all there. There are also a number of very informative meetings coming up. By State Commiteemember Joanna Francisco April 10, 2013 Thank you for electing me to represent you on the GOP State Committee. My goal is to utilize this position as a platform to make your voice heard within our state and county party structure as well as keep you informed of the actions and direction of the Oklahoma Republican Party. Since the Tulsa County GOP Convention just a couple of weeks ago, I have had the opportunity to participate in several local grassroots events. Citizens for a Better Vision held a forum during which citizens could speak directly and unltered to their city government representatives regarding the proposed tax package; Oklahoma Liberty hosted a very informative and well-attended event on the subject of Nullication - The Rightful Remedy; Wagoner County hosted their regular monthly Republican meeting at which State Senator Nathan Dahm and candidate for GOP State Chair, Amanda Teegarden addressed the crowd; this past Saturday I served alongside many Republicans from across the state on the Platform Committee in preparation for the upcoming GOP State Convention. The next couple of weeks will just as busy and I am looking forward to our State Convention on April 20th. I have come in contact with a vast number of Republicans who have expressed great concern for the direction of our country, our state, our city, and even our party. While we may not agree 100% on the minutia of all issues, one thing on which we do agree is that individual liberty is essential in a free society. We are very aware of legislative actions on all levels and by both parties that threaten our liberties. Oklahoma Republicans are independent and will not tolerate being micromanaged by over-reaching, unconstitutional legislation. I believe we are well on our way to restoring our republic, and I am especially excited about the growing number of conservative activists engaging in our states governing process. Specically, I am delighted that Tulsa County District Committee Member Amanda Teegarden has answered the call of Oklahoma grassroots Republicans to seek the position of our partys State Chair. For many years she has inspired, educated, and equipped countless Republicans to become actively involved in all levels of our own government. Her research and educational efforts have played a vital role in the ongoing struggle to return us to a constitutionally restrained government, in our ability to hold our elected ofcials accountable, and in steps toward restoring individual liberty and state sovereignty. The Republican Party is the natural home of liberty and representative government, and our battle to restore those principles involves each one of us joining in and serving wherever needed. Thank you for your involvement in this effort. I look forward to visiting with you at the State Convention. Joanna Francisco Tulsa County State Committee Member jfrancisco@tulsagop.org
