I chose to do the poem about the Newtown school shooting because I think that it is very sad and scary to think that someone has and would actually do something so terrible. I also chose this event to help avoid this happening again.

Theshooter,AdamLanza,20yearsold,shottwentykids,eightboysand twelvegirls.AdamLanzaalsoshotsixfemalestaffmember.Hewasseen carryinganarsenalofhundredsofroundsofdeadlyammunition.Before drivingtotheelementaryschoolLanzashotandkilledhismotherNancy Lanza.Thekidsthatwereshottodeathwerearound6to7yearsold.One ofthevictimsfatherRobbieParkerstruggledtocatchhisbreathashe describedhisdaughterEmilie.Asixyearoldgirlwasasolesurvivor.She survivedtheschoolshootingbyplayeddeadandstayingstilluntilthe buildingwasquietandfeltsafetoexit.Shewasthefirstchildtoleavethe building.WhenshereachedhermothershesaidMommy,I'mokay,but allmyfriendsaredead.ShedescribedLanzaasaveryangryman.When thepolicefinallygottotheschoolAdamLanzacommittedsuicide.
