Discerning amateur and professional photographers have long preferred GE enlarging lamps because their smoorh light distribution makes sharp, professional looking enlargements a matter-of-fact operation. Vhen the enlarger is equippeci with a GE lamp you know you have the best possible distribution of rhe right color light. . . v'hether you print black and white or color.

There r's a special General Electric lamp for every enlarger. It makes no difi'erence whether ir is a vertical or horizontal enlarger. . . or wherher it has a condenser, dilfusion, or combination lamphouse system. Certain GE enlarg:ng lamps are clear, others are white or inside frosted, and three are circular fluorescent . two whire and one blue.

Proiecion lomp lips

10 and '15 Hour Projection Lamps are Brighter. Projection lamps are highly efacient light sources designed ro concenrrare the maximum amount of light through a projecror's opricar system. The life rating ofthese lamps ranges from teo to iifiy hours. Some new projecrion lamps, such as the Gold rop "cAR", are designed with a fifteen hour life raring, ro provide high screen Iumen s in a .mall lamp.

Many 500-, 750- and looo-watt projection lamps are available in both 10- and 25-hour life design. The 2 5-hour desigo is used most frequently. However, wheo maximum screen brightness
is required, the 1o-hour lamp may be used in the same socket and projector.lamp wattage is tbe same with either the 1o- or 25-hour lamp but rhe 1o-hour lamp purs loob rc rsqo more light oo the scteen.

In

1000-watr lamp designs the 10-hour lamp

is most commonly used since

maximum

screen brightness is usually required. These lamps are also available longer life is desirable and less screen brightness cao be tolerated.

in 25-hour design lyhere

Substituting Higher Wottoge [omps

Motion picture aod slide projectors are designed to give best cooling and performance with lamps of specific wattage. The desigo wattage will be fouod on the name plate of every pro_ jector. Higher wattage lamps may result in film damage, severe lamp distortioo, und "u"r, possible damage to the projector's lenses and housing.
