STUDENT SENATE MINUTES April 09, 2013 The Senate President called the meeting to order at 7:31 pm and

announced that the meeting may be filmed or audio taped and may be available to the public. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. ROLL CALL: Roll was called and quorum was established with 79 senators present. Not there for roll call: Bottone Larkin Yang Burns Nguyen Carter OQuinn Claude Pinkston Garcia Rodriguez Joseph Soria Kelsey Vollrath

AMENDMENTS TO THE AGENDA: - A motion was made to approve Senate Bill 2013-1026: Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Student Government Funded Academic Organizations Budget by unanimous consent. The motion passed. - A motion was made to approve Senate Bill 2013-1027: Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Student Government Funded Student Organizations Budget by unanimous consent. The motion passed. - A motion was made to table Senate Bill 2013-1029: Health Outreach Assembly Allocation of Reserves to SG Administration. The motion passed. - A motion was made to hear R&A recommendations as a block. No objection was made. - A motion was made to approve R&A recommendation block. No objection was made. - A motion was made to approve Senate Bill 2013-1028: Funding for Rechargeable Battery Packs for Marston Science Library. No objection was made. AMENDMENTS TO THE PREVIOUS MINUTES: There were no amendments to the previous minutes for April 02. PUBLIC DEBATE: - Senator Grasso: Working on initiative to make the Channel 8 movie channel available online. - Senator Olivieri: Explained why he drafted online voting bill from last week. Said that voter turn-out is very low and online voting will fix this. o Questions: 1 OFFICE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT - Daniel Landesberg announced ACCENT show on Monday at 8pm- Ron Paul. o Questions: 1

PRESIDENTS REPORT: - Announced Brono Vuskovich as the new Finance Liason - Shout out to new Senate family members - Working on putting Senator Bios on the SG website - Presentation by VP of Student Affairs, Gina: gave presentation about Undergraduate Student Survey (SERU) o Questions: 2 COMMITTEE REPORTS: REPLACEMENT & AGENDA: - Welcome Paul OQuinn to family - Thank you for approving R&A - Congratulations to everyone who got committee seats - Interviewing for open seats this weekend - Working on updating SG Application process so that students can understand it better - Summer Replacement Form due by last Senate meeting, everyone must fill one out o Questions: 4 BUDGET & APPROPRIATIONS: - Encouraged Senators to find good summer replacements - Thanked everyone for approving SB2013-1026 and SB2013-1027 - Will be sending out evaluations to organizations about budget meetings - Shout out to his mentees ALLOCATIONS: - Will not be meeting this week due to Dance Marathon. - Presentation of Senate Bill 2013-1028: Funding for Rechargeable Battery Packs for Marston Science Library. o PowerPoint presentation on details of the bill Question: 9 JUDICIARY: - Thank you for appointing me RULES & ETHICS: - Met on Sunday to approve absences - A motion was made to approve absences.
