SECTION B 20 MARKS [You are advised to spend 40 minutes] 1. An experiment is conducted to determine the rate of reaction between 25 cm3 of hydrochloric acid 0.1 mol dm3 and 10.0 g of marble chips. The gas evolved is collected into a burette by water displacement technique. Diagram 1 shows the incomplete apparatus set-up for this experiment. Table 1 shows the result of the experiment.

SECTION C 30 MARKS [You are advised to spend 60 minutes] Question 1 [trial-melaka-2009] Sodium thiosulphate solution reacts with an acid to produce a salt, sulphur and a smelly gas, sulphur dioxide.
