Installation Instructions
1. Mount cabinet per mechanical dimensions and knockout locations given in Section III. 2. Connect 120VAC, 60Hz., single phase to the black and white leads of the transformer in accordance with Article 725 and/or Article 760 of the National Electrical Code. 3. Low Volt AC Input - Connected to secondary winding of the transformer. v Fused at 30 Amps (Fuse Type AGC-30) 4. Verify output voltage at "DC Output" and "Battery" terminals. 12V system measures approximately 13.8VDC. 24V system measures approximately 27.6VDC. 5. Connect battery set to "Battery" terminals. CAUTION: Observe polarity; incorrect polarity will destroy battery fuse. WARNING: For continued protection against fire hazard, replace only with the same type and rating of fuse. Fused at 30 Amps (Fuse Type AGC-30). Recommended battery type - Power Sonic (PS Series) or YUASA (NP Series) lead acid/gel cell. 6. Connect "System DC" to input of user system. CAUTION: Observe polarity; incorrect polarity may damage user system. Refer to Section I for Maximum Allowable System Current. 7. Visual Indicators: AC Presence LED1: Green LED System OK LED2: Green LED Slave Power LED1: Green LED 8. Connect "Fault Output" to system fault annunciation. Form "C" Relay Contacts rated at 1 Amp @ 24VDC Resistive. Relay Contacts labeled in the non-operational (fault) condition. Fail-safe; active until an actual fault condition. 9. Fault Conditions: Low AC / No AC / Blown AC Fuse / High or Low Battery / Blown Battery Fuse CAUTION: Fault condition reporting may be delayed dependent on power supply loading. The battery set is NOT supervised for presence. 10. This unit is intended to be placed in the same room as the control equipment.

Troubleshooting Chart
Symptoms Possible Cause Low AC / No AC / Blown AC fuse. Low or High output. Blown battery fuse. Correction Procedure See Symptom 2. See Symptom 3. See Symptom 4. Check AC primary supply. Remove primary power and batteries, then replace fuse. CAUTION. Check xfmr secondary voltage at PC board "Low Voltage AC Connection". If voltage is not present, replace xfmr. Check battery condition and replace if needed. Remove system load and batteries; check system output voltage. If OK recheck system requirements, and/or measure output current draw with an ammeter. Rewire battery set.

1) Green "SYS OK" LED is off. Relay Contacts transfer to NC.

2) Green "AC ON" LED is not illuminated.

Loss of AC power. Blown AC fuse. Loss of transformer (xfmr) power.

3) Incorrect output voltage

Defective battery. The system load is greater than the supply capability.

BATTERY CONFIGURATIONS
12 Volt Configuration

24 Volt Configuration

Incorrect battery hook-up.

4) No battery back-up

Incorrect or defective Measure xfmr secondary voltage. If not within xfmr. proper range, replace transformer. Blown battery fuse. Incorrect battery hook-up. 5) No relay transfer on fault Defective board Remove primary power and batteries, then replace fuse. CAUTION. Observe polarity. Rewire battery set. Replace PC Board.
