Autoload Tanker

Autoload is a versatile loading computer software that can be configured for tasks specific to tanker operations. On top of generic functionality available for all ships Autoload provides additional practical and useful tank and liquid cargo management features.

Combining both the tanker and the bulk carrier functionality in one application Autoload is a perfect loading computer software for OBO ships. Cargo Tanks On the separate Cargo tank tab the user can enter, monitor and edit parameters specific to cargo operations with crude oil and petroleum products. That includes: Ullage; API gravity at 60F; Temperature; Volume correction factor; Volume in barrels; Pump rate

Cargo grade for each tank can be selected by name from the expandable list of frequently carried cargoes. That instantly brings up cargo properties such as API gravity and VCF. Changing temperature of cargo in the table automatically updates its API gravity, VCF and the dependent parameters. Autoload uses absolutely accurate methods of determining cargo quantities that are based on the exact 3-dimensional geometry of tanks and take in to account current ships heel and trim. Tanks with the same cargo are automatically grouped and presented with secondary tabs on the right side of the table. Totals of different grades of cargo are shown on these tabs. With that function the user can effectively monitor and manage OBQ of various grades of crude and products on board. Cargo Database Autoload provides facility where the user can enter and edit properties of frequently carried cargoes: Name; Type of cargo - Crude Oil or Generalized Products; API Gravity or Density at standard temperature; For non-petroleum products a range of VCFs at different temperatures.

The user doesnt need to remember what tables to use for cargo calculations. It only takes selecting the name of cargo for a tank in the Tanks Table. Then Autoload uses genuine ASTM formulae to accurately determine VCF of crude oil and petroleum products at observed temperature and all the related parameters.

Ullage Survey The Ullage Survey dialog in Autoload is fast and practical function to determine OBQ and quantity of delivered cargo. With minimal user input, which includes ullage, observed temperature and water dip, the program instantly calculates accurate quantities of cargo in tanks based on cargo properties, taking in to account current trim and heel of the vessel. The final numbers can be adjusted applying Vessel Experience Factor.

With one button click the user can generate signature-ready detailed Ullage Survey report in the commonly adopted format. Reports The variety of standard and custom reports is available in a common electronic format. That includes, but not limited to: Floating status; Loading Summary; Stability reports (intact, damage, severe wind); Longitudinal Strength; Loading Sequence with time estimate; Ullage Survey report.

As additional benefits to that SPS provides: ability to instantly switch from one port condition to another to make fine-tuning of the plan; automatic update of the stowage plan when switching from port to port; automated control over possible stowage conflicts in the future or previous ports safeguarding the user from unexpected nasty surprises; possibility to plan and control cargo re-stows and shifting. Drag-and-drop stowage method The main method of stowage planning in SPS is dragging the cargo in graphical plan with the mouse and dropping it in the desired position. In the process the program renders the cargo 3D geometry based on its dimensions.

Built-in Stowage rules There is a set of automated stowage rules in SPS that the planner can select and employ when stowing mass cargo or multiple units of breakbulk cargo. The program performs automatic check of stowage limitations and possible stowage conflicts and alarms the user if any problem is detected. Cargo List Important part of SPS is the searchable Cargo or Booking List with its very well developed functionality. Here the user can analyze and monitor type and amount of cargo stowed, yet to be stowed, its properties and characteristics. Ability to sort and filter cargo by various custom criteria facilitates the work with the Cargo List and makes cargo data analysis and tracking easy. Electronic Data Interchange SPS can be fully integrated in the ship operator's logistics chain of cargo data processing through the well developed EDI interface. SPS supports several standard UN / EDIFACT protocols, custom EDI protocols can be added as well. Reporting capability All stowage planning culminates in the set of reports. SPS provides very well developed reporting engine that allows the user to produce stowage plans and various cargo statistics reports in electronic PDF format. These reports can be printed, archived or sent as email attachments. SPS provides management solution that improves cargo handling efficiency, utilization of ships capacity, and fully integrates planning operations into the real-time logistical chain.

Autoload Overview
Autoload is the most advanced universal loading computer software designed to estimate and control parameters of stability, strength and floating status of virtually any type of ships - bulk, break bulk, tanker, ro-ro, container, heavy lift, naval, cruise, fishing, survey, supply vessel... and more!

Single- or multihull, semi-submersible - all types of free floating vessels and offshore installations can be processed by Autoload.

Unlike many other loading computers on the market, Autoload does not rely on pre-calculated hydrostatic data from the ships Loading Manual. Instead it uses the true 3-dimensional model of the ships hull and internal compartments in combination with the hull form based calculation methods to obtain ships floating status and hydrostatic parameters. The same methods are used to produce approved stability booklets. The adopted calculation methods allow Autoload to provide very accurate results not only when the ship is in normal operational condition, but in a damaged condition and/or a condition with abnormally great heel or trim when the accurate and reliable results are needed the most. In addition to the generic functionality applicable to all types of ships Autoload can be configured to assist in load planning and cargo survey on bulk carriers and tankers. Click on the links in the left menu bar to learn more. SPS modules connected to Autoload compliment it with additional graphical cargo planning functionality specific to different types of cargo and crane operations.

Autoload has type approval from all major Classes and has been installed on more than 1000 vessels. Among them are very unique and complex vessels such as semi-submersible heavy lift ships. M/v Blue Marlin and the oil rig Thunder Horse shown on the picture used to be the biggest

semi-submersibles at the time. Both of them were equipped with Autoload integrated in to their control systems.

Highlights of Autoload
Graphical User Interface Autoload features intuitive and easy to understand graphical user interface. All the major controlled parameters are permanently displayed on the screen in numerical format and in the form of diagrams.

Interactive graphical plan, profile, body and 3D views show level of fluids in tanks and ships position in the water. The user can manipulate contents and status of tanks directly in the graphical views or in the Tanks table. MaxVCG, longitudinal strength diagrams, drafts survey, ballasting sequence, auto-ballasting functions, etc. are readily accessible from the main screen through a selection of tabs. The Autoloads graphical interface is a result of more then 20 years of experience and design of windows applications, always utilizing the latest available programming tools and technologies. Hydrostatic Parameters

In real time Autoload calculates and updates values of over 40 hydrostatic parameters. The program can be configured to permanently display the most important ones in the pre-defined place on the screen. All other parameters can be monitored in a special Hydrostatic Values window and in the reports. Parameters of tanks, such as positions of Centre of Gravity and Free Surface moments, are dynamically updated based on the tanks 3D geometry, shift of content in slack tanks and actual position and shape of free surface at the current floating position of the ship. Controlled parameters of ships stability, strength and floating status are monitored against the limits. Clear visual alarms are issued when a value is not within the allowable range. Damage Stability Autoload is a Type 3 stability software according to the IACS UR L5 classification. In addition to checking intact and damage stability on basis of a KG/GM limit curve(s) Autoload allows the user to simulate any damage condition directly applying damage cases for actual loading condition. Direct damage stability assessment functionality is an integral part of Autoload, it does not require any additional separate programming module(s). Tank and Draft Sensors Autoload can be connected to various types of tank and draft sensors. That allows monitoring actual ships loading condition and floating status in real time from the comfort of deck office. With one click the user can switch Autoload between the on-line and simulation modes. Reporting

Autoload generates an array of print-ready reports in an electronic format. That includes stability, longitudinal strength, loading summary, and other common reports. New custom reports can be added and the format of the reports can be modified with the aid of the macro commands. Reports can be archived in a common searchable electronic format, or sent directly to a printer. Customization Autoload is very versatile and flexible program that features extensive and ever expanding set of macro commands. Controlled hydrostatic parameters, stability criteria, elements of interface, format of the reports - all can be configured to the practical needs and the requirements of Class to the specific ship.

Autoload Bulk
Autoload can be configured as the loading computer for ships carrying loose bulk cargoes. That expands the generic Autoload features adding the functionality specific to the bulk cargo load management.

Possibility to combine both the tanker and the bulk carrier functionality in one application makes Autoload perfectly suitable as the loading computer software for OBO ships. Cargo Holds The Cargo tab presents holds in the tabular form similar to Tanks table, but with additional properties specific to bulk cargoes. In the Cargo table in addition to the generic tank properties such as weight, volume, fill ratio, sp. gravity and coordinates of CG the user can enter and monitor parameters specific to bulk cargo: stowage factor; load status - filled, partly filled, trimmed, untrimmed grain heeling moment. Grain heeling moment can be enabled or disabled by the user at any time. Bulk Cargo Planning

With an optional Bulk Planning module the user can simulate the entire process of loading loose bulk cargo. The main features of the Bulk Planning module are:

Cargo

calculations are based on 3D geometry of holds and cargo piles; the shape of piles is formed taking in to account angle of repose of cargo and width of loader; user can plan multi-stage and multi-port loading / unloading sequence with ballasting operations; monitor cargo pile parameters such as quantities of cargo in piles, height of pile, free remaining height to the hatch cover, height of pile edges at bulkheads; receive instant feedback on parameters of ships floating status, stability, local and overall strength; produce detailed loading sequence report. The module is an efficient aid in planning cargo operations on all types of bulk carriers: conventional gearless, geared, self-unloading ships with discharge through the bottom gates. Grain Calculations Autoload/Bulk performs calculations of grain stability in accordance with Ch.IV SOLAS 1974 & IMO Res.MSC 23(59). Shifting moments of grain in holds are calculated based on the holds load status: filled, partly filled, trimmed, untrimmed. In addition to the intact stability criteria the stability of ship loaded with grain is monitored based on the allowable upsetting moment for given loading condition and direct calculations of heel angle and the residual area under the RA curve with grain shifted. Local Strength The user can monitor local strength against the allowable weights in holds when loading heavy cargo with low stowage factor or planning alternate load of holds. The allowable weights for every hold are dynamically updated based on the current drafts. Draft Survey

With the Draft Survey function the user can instantly and with great accuracy calculate the constant, quantity of cargo loaded or delivered, and produce signature-ready Draft Survey report in a commonly recognized format. Reports The variety of standard and custom reports is available in a common electronic format. That includes, but not limited to:
