Brinkworth, and Anna D. Harris. "Changes In Teacher-Student Relationships." British Journal Of Educational Psychology 82.4 (2012): 690-704. ERIC. Web. 25 Feb. 2013. The article is about research done over the period of a year to describe the relationships between teachers and students. The factors in the research done should not have much effect on past teacher student relationships, but just on the ones that are happening at the moment. They are bringing up the point in that teachers having more experience may have a greater effect on the students. They posed these questions in their research. To what extent do teacherstudent relationships change over the course of a school year? To the extent that these changes do occur, do they correspond to changes in student outcomes of import including academic achievement and motivation? If these changes are related to valued student outcomes, are certain upstream characteristics of students, such as social perspective taking or similarity, associated with these changes? As far as social perspective taking goes, I definitely want to look at teacher's problems and student's problems from a different perspective of sorts. I want to see how the student teacher relationship changes throughout the year and how it affects overall success in the future. I definitely think that this article is beneficial in my research. Munjaal, Vyom. Ezine @rticles. Importance of the K-12 Education System. 2009. 11 Mar. 2013. The article explains the importance of Kindergarten through 12th grade. Having the opportunity to have a free education is not valued how it should be. Take advantage of your opportunities to enhance yourself for your job, career, and future. Teachers over the years give the challenge for

DiDonato 2 students to work on several assignments, but the ultimate goal of giving all of those assignments is to create an intellectual and interesting learning habit. It is said that this method is what helps the student revise or recall what they have had before. Repetition, practice, and overall drive create how good of a thinking capability you have and the thinking capability applied to different situations determines what kind of success you have. Being a successful person and/or student relies on how you have utilized your opportunity at education and what kind of environment you may face. I think that the K-12 education system is very important to build necessary skills, inquire about subjects you may want to study further, and teaching you different life qualities you need to have. I agree with this article. Without a foundation of entry level education, it is hard to face the world whether you are going straight into the workforce, going into the military, or going into college. Mendler, Allen. Good. Should Teachers View Their Students as Customers? 2012. 11 Mar. 2013. The article questions, Should teachers view their students as consumers? It suggests that parents these days are expecting the teacher to ensure that their child is properly educated because they pay the taxes that gives the teacher a job. Yes, this is true, but with parents making an excuse for a childs disruptive behavior and lack of effort, it is not very possible. Educators now see that parents rather see success made through it being given rather than earned, so this is where teachers are starting to look at students as their customers in a business. It is all about understanding what the school and teacher are trying to sell and what its customers (students) need. A teacher acts like a salesman to get a customer the product or service they need to enhance their life. This is where the teachers change the students mind and make them believe that it is their effort not their ability that is affecting the amount of success they have. The students need to take responsibility in the end whether that is a good teaching situation they are in or not, but it is the teachers job to make them understand that and prepare them. I

DiDonato 3 agree with this article. The amount of success a student has relies on their effort into something. Not always necessarily how the teacher teaches. Unknown Author. Forming Positive Student Teacher Relationships. Cedu.niu.edu, Unknown Date. PDF. This article suggests that learning is a social event and that both the teachers and students will suffer if the teacher fails to create a close and helping relationship with the students. Students value the willingness for the teacher to help them, but some students face different situations. Some may not like the face to face meeting so much, but do want the teachers insight on an assignment written on there. Others have more trouble focusing on their school work based on their troubles outside of school, so they like the face to face interaction with the teacher. The motivation from the teacher helps them refocus any goals they may have. The more engaged a teacher is with the student, the more a student will be engaged with them back. The student will also be more willing to complete coursework and have interest in what they are learning. The cause of a lot of student dropouts has to do with teacher student relationships. Not always is it the student not caring, it can be a combination of both. Usually, it starts out being a poor relationship and then student starts to not care. It is said that it is not uncommon for a student failing most of their courses to have above average grades in a course where there is a caring relationship from the teacher to the student. I think I can agree with this article. It definitely brings up ideas from both perspectives. This article likes to put things against the teacher mostly because they feel they can really make a difference in the students lives by being involved and engaged with them. Santiago, Andrea. Why Is Education So Important? About.com. Web. Unknown Date. This article is questioning, Why is education so important for success? Probably the most important part of education is that you may not be considered for some jobs if you do not have the proper education requirements. It is seen in todays world that someone with a degree and no experience may be chosen over someone that has more experience in that specific field and no degree.

DiDonato 4 This is because having a degree shows that you have the drive and commitment to learn and apply information to achieve a variety of tasks and goals before even working on the job. Getting an education is also essential to everyday life so you can have basic English/language, math, and science skills. As far as for English and language skills, you can interact with people in a more professional matter. As far as for basic math/science skills, you need to be able to do simple calculations in your head. I can agree with this article. Education is very important these days. It is not all about who you know anymore. It just does not work like that in this day in age. I feel that this ties in heavily with teacher student relationships. Teachers need to emphasize that going to school is very important to go on into your career to make money and be successful in your life. It has never been told into detail to us until now that Im in college.
