Small Business Resource Clinic


Nationally, October is recognized as Womens Small Business Month. This is a time to pay tribute to the many business owners, especially women, who have contributed to the success of our thriving region. In recognition of Womens Small Business Month this October, MetroAction is hosting a Small Business Resource Clinic to help start-up and expanding entrepreneurs understand the steps needed to develop a successful business and provide valuable resources to help male and female owned small businesses grow and thrive. Receive quick and easy tips for writing your business plan and recommendations on how to use your plan to obtain financing, focus ideas, identify specific business objectives, and chart and manage growth. The Small Business Resource Clinic will also take the mystery out of financing your business. You will learn how small business loans work, what documents and information are required, and review the requirements to qualify for small business financing. The clinic will also explain about small business grants, what lenders look for, and how you can improve your chances of qualifying for a small business loan. This seminar is designed to point new or potential business owners in the right direction, providing an overview of: Developing a business plan Helpful community resources, including resources specifically for women Financing options for your business What lenders look for and much more! A pandemic is a global disease outbreak. An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza virus begins to cause serious illness and then spreads easily person-to-person worldwide. The Small Business Spotlight Award


MetroAction is currently accepting applications for the Small Business Spotlight Award. The Small Business Spotlight recognizes businesses for their efforts in the betterment of our local community. The Small Business Spotlight Award, sponsored by First Liberty Bank and Trust, is awarded each month. Winners of the Small Business Spotlight are recognized in The Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal, the Chamber newsletter Newsbriefs and MetroActions online newsletter TakingAction. Winners also will receive a commemorative plaque. To be eligible, businesses must be members of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, have fewer than 100 employees and must show dedication to making our community a better place to live and work.
