Title of the magazine will be: UKRS (UK Rap Scene) I have chosen this name as it describes what the magazine is about; it is short, catchy, and easy to remember. The title also connotes that it cover the entire of the UK so not limiting it to one genre or style. So it can cover a vast majority styles such as grime(which is very different if you go from area to area e.g. Manchester compared to London), hiphop(again is very different if you look at areas e.g. northern England west Yorkshire and London), Irish hip-hop (northern Ireland)

Explanation of choice of genre: I chose the UK rap genre because I like it and because there are very few magazines that go in depth with this genre. So there is a gap in the market for a magazine specifically about UK rap

Target audience: The target audience of the magazine is mixed gender aged 16-25 but predominately males. The interests of my target audience are going out with mates, break dancing. The style of clothing they wear is quite urban and popular shops that sell these clothes are JD and Foot asylum.

Initial ideas about front page: For my front Im going to have one main image of a famous artist possibly of a live performance. Cover lines that allow the readers to have a glimpse of what the content of the magazine but not to give off to much information so there reader is still curious of what is inside. I will also have a fairly dark colour

scheme as this would represent the genre but will also have vivid and strong contrasting colours to make the cover eye grabbing and appealing

Initial ideas about contents page: For my contents page it will contain the pages with certain articles on artists my researched showed that the top five favourite UK rappers were Professor Green, Sox, Lunar C, Blizzard and Tinie Tempah

Initial ideas about double page spread: I will have an article with an interview with the artist that is also featured on the front cover. The image will be different of that on the front cover in many ways such as the mise-en-scene the artist will have different costume, different pose, different shot type possibly a close up or a long shot to give special awareness and also to fit in props

Initial ideas about photographs: I will have a range of different photographs possibly of live performances and/or of DJing as this is within the rap culture with lots of different shot types such as a medium close up for the front cover. For the contents I could have a photograph of an artist maybe doing an action that would be relatable to the genre e.g. tagging a wall or break dancing
