7. My Reflections on the Lesson What do I need to do to become more effective as a teacher in supporting student learning?

Students seemed into the lesson about as much as any other history lesson. They enjoyed the pictures and leading questions. The video and the song where defiantly the highlights of the lesson. Unfortunately I had to change the activity because of unforeseen circumstances this lesion got pushed back much later then I planned. Instead of having the individual artistic assignment after the song we decided to have a group discussion on how they liked the song, what they found interesting and how it related to the lesson. I need to find a way to get more students to participate in class discussions though and I dont just want to call out students names and have them be unprepared and uncomfortable. Some students participate more for me then they do for Mrs. B, but some dont participate at all. I will ask Mrs. B. for suggestions.
