The idea of the Setzi saddle did not come out of the blue, but is the result of years of study and testing on the part of Antonio Sardo (equestrian guide, specializing in long distance horse-trekking and with a very good knowledge of endurance races). For more than 20 years Antonio Sardo organized and led group excursions on horseback, across Sardinia and Corsica, lasting one or two weeks at a time. These journeys, with their rugged terrain and long hours on horseback, contributed to Antonio Sardos reasearch for the perfect saddle. Among the many saddles he tried out, Antonio rediscovered the old Sardinian saddle used by the shepherds when carrying milk churns over uneven stony roads and observed that, while it reduced problems for the horse, it also provided adequate comfort and stability for the rider. Antonios preference for the English saddle (which is comfortable and provides a good seat and stability even in difficult situations) was the final contribution to the idea in his mind for the perfect endurance saddle. Finally, having gone trough numerous trials, thanks to the perseverance of the designer and the collaboration and advice of many athletes and friends on a voluntary basis, the best possible result was obtained. The Setzi is already well known and appreciated in the world of endurance. Research is ongoing, thanks also to Marco Sardo (Antonios son) who is a professional and international endurance rider (actually the number one rider of Al Asayl Stable in Abu Dhabi). Marcos experience in the UAE provides an opportunity for regular improvements in the technical quality of the saddle. Lidea delle Selle Setzi non nata per caso, ma frutto di anni di studi e collaudi da parte di Antonio Sardo che, oltre ad essere una guida equestre specializzata in lunghi viaggi, ha maturato anni di esperienza nel campo dell'endurance. Per oltre 20 anni Antonio Sardo ha organizzato escursioni di una o pi settimane a cavallo tra la Sardegna e la Corsica. La tipologia dei viaggi che proponeva e le lunghe ore trascorse a cavallo hanno contribuito alla ricerca della sella perfetta. Tra le tante selle provate, Antonio ha riscontrato che la vecchia sella sarda, usata dai pastori per trasportare i bidoni del latte su strade sconnesse, era quella che dava meno problemi al cavallo: si trattava quindi di trovare una soluzione adeguata anche per il confort del cavaliere. Lorientamento verso la sella inglese (che comoda e d assetto e buona stabilit in sella, anche in caso di difficolt) completava infine lidea che prendeva forma nella mente di Antonio. Sono state fatte numerose prove e, grazie alla costanza dellideatore, alla collaborazione ed ai consigli di tanti atleti ed amici volontari, si giunti ad un ottimo risultato finale. La Setzi ormai un marchio conosciuto ed apprezzato nel mondo dellendurance, la ricerca in continua evoluzione grazie anche a Marco Sardo, figlio di Antonio ed a sua volta cavaliere professionista internazionale, attualmente prima monta presso la scuderia Al Asayl di Abu Dhabi.

CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE - La sella realizzata con un materiale altamente tecnologico e brevettato ed completamente vuota allinterno. La leggerezza uno dei principali punti di forza della Setzi. Le selle sono polivalenti, ovvero possono essere usate per turismo equestre, endurance e trek e sono realizzate completamente a mano con pellame conciato in Italia. Tutte le selle Setzi sono mono-quartiere e dotate di un foro di 23 centimetri che permette al cavaliere di non avere pressioni o sollecitazioni alla prostata ed evita fastidiose irritazioni alle donne. Ogni sella Setzi garantisce: - massimo comfort al cavaliere; - leggerezza e contatto diretto sul cavallo; - stabilit, elasticit ed adattabilit alla maggior parte dei cavalli. La spalla del cavallo rimane completamente libera, il naturale movimento biomeccanico della schiena garantito e non ci sono compressioni ai muscoli ed alle vertebre. I riscontri del sottopancia sono in biothane e sono fissati a V per dare maggior stabilit alla sella, senza influire sul cuore del cavallo. Il sottopancia corto per evitare spessore sotto i quartieri. Le selle sono dotate di due campanelle anteriori per il fissaggio del pettorale. Tutti i modelli possono essere realizzati in colori diversi (sia per quanto riguarda il seggio che per le banane) come da campione illustrato per ogni singolo modello. I prezzi indicati si riferiscono al colore standard (nero). Il supplemento per il colore desiderato pari al 12% in pi del prezzo del modello standard. Per variare lassetto, possibile richiedere laggiunta di due anelli: in questo caso il costo della sella viene maggiorato di 30 euro. Il peso della sella parte da kg 1,8 fino ad arrivare a kg 10, a seconda delle specifiche richieste. Technical characteristics - The saddle is made with a highly technological and registered material. Inside it is hollow: lightness is the most important quality of the saddle. The saddles are multipurpose, which means that they can be used for equestrian tourism, endurance and trek and they are completely handmade with Italian leather produced in Italy. Every Setzi saddle has a mono-flap, and a hole 23 cms long that provides comfort to the rider and reduces pressure on the prostate and also avoids irritation and discomfort to women. Every Setzi saddle affords: - maximum comfort to the rider; - lightness and direct contact with the horse; - stability, elasticity and adaptability to every type of horse. The horses shoulders are left free, the natural bio-mechanic movement of the back is assured and there is no compression on muscles or vertebrae. The tabs of the girth are made in biothane and they are constructed in a V shape in order to give the saddle good stability, without any pressure on the horses heart. The girth is short to avoid thickness under flaps. The saddles have two bells in the front to fix the breast strap. Every model can be produced in different colours (both for the seat and the knee rolls or bananas) according to the specifications provided on line. All the quoted prices refer to standard colour (black). Any other colour combination will incur an additional charge of 12% on the standard price. If you wish to vary the angle of the seat, two rings can be added and this feature will cost an additional 30 euros. E una sella che ricorda la vecchia sella militare americana, ideata per i soldati che dovevano rimanere molte ore a cavallo. E ideale per andare al passo o al galoppo, ma non al trotto. Molto valida in terreni sconnessi o per lunghe galoppate sulla sabbia; il lungo foro al centro permette una circolazione continua daria sulla schiena del cavallo ed di grande sollievo per il cavaliere.
