Top 13 Things You Can Expect From Me Every teacher is different, and you undoubtedly have a number of teachers

this year you have never had before and it can take some time for you to figure out how each one operates. To speed up the process, I would like to present a list of the top 10 things you can expect from me in this class: 13. You can expect me to award one extra credit point for each unused responsibility pass at the end of each semester. 12. You can expect me to accept late work a week after the assignment is posted online without any penalty. I will accept work later than a week with the use of a responsibility pass. 11. You can expect me to update grades online weekly. 10. You can expect me to treat you like an adult for as long as you act like one. 9. You can expect me to put important announcements on the screen every day as well as instructions for how you are to prepare for the beginning of the days lesson. You can expect me to write important dates and other long-term reminders on the far right side of the white board. 8. You can expect me to answer questions of those who have their hand in the air and are waiting patiently. 7. You can expect me to respect the value of your time and to use it wisely. 6. You can expect me to assign you to lunch duty the fourth time you are marked tardy as well as the fifth time each semester. You can expect me to refer you to the school administration the sixth time you are marked tardy each semester. 5. You can expect me to dismiss you when the bell rings at the end of class. 4. You can expect me to confiscate your cell phone or ipod or other personal item if it is distracting to you, your classmates, or myself, and you can expect me to forward it to an administrator. 3. You can expect me to react very strongly to cheating. You can expect me to assign you a score of zero for any assignment in which you are determined to have cheated or helped someone else cheat. The most common example I encounter is two students turning in identical papers or homework. 2. You can expect me to create a learning environment that is safe and supportive for all students. You can expect me to treat mistakes and wrong answers not as failures, but as opportunities to learn. Therefore, you can expect me to place a high value on your participation in class activities and discussions. 1. You can expect me to give you responsibility for your learning. It's your education and your life, and while I will do everything I can to make this course interesting, challenging, and relevant, you can expect me to leave it up to you whether you take

advantage of the opportunities presented.
