Social Integration and Social Control in the Transition Society

Some Thoughts about the institutional Change of the Chinese Work Unit

The paper tries to explore how and why the dynamics of social integration and social control have
been changed within the changing process of the Chinese Danwei institution. It tries to analyze
what kind of differences between Danwei-institution and No-Danweiinstitution in terms of their
value and behavior orientations are and how far do they differ and why. It is argued in the paper that
its very important to make an institutional arrangement of the new dynamics for the social
integration and social control in the current Chinese society.
