Macro Planning Directorate coordinates the formulation of National Development Plans towards realisation of the Kenya Vision 2030 and also promotes regional and international economic cooperation matters. Sectoral Planning Directorate is responsible for the development and coordination of sector policies and programmes in conjunction with line ministries and stakeholders. Rural Planning Directorate provides a vehicle for decentralised and budgeting process from the national level to the districts through the District Focus for Rural Development (DFRD) Strategy. The Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate has developed indicators to track the implementation of the Kenya Vision 2030 and its first Medium Term Plan (MTP) 2008 -2012. The Administration Directorate consists of professional and specialized units that support the planning functions of the Ministry and is coordinated by a Senior Director of Administration. Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Project Implementation Unit in collaboration with Embassy of Finland and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is implementing Quick Win projects in some of the relatively poor districts in Kenya. Poverty Eradication Commission has been promoting the growing of Grain Amaranth and District Table Banking as some of the strategies to eradicate poverty. Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) conducted the 2009 National Population and Housing Census between 24/25 and 31st August under the theme Counting our People for Implementation of Vision 2030. Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) provides quality public policy advice to the Government of Kenya. Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF) was established in 1996 as a joint initiative of the Government of Kenya and the European Commission to support poverty reduction through community empowerment and environmental conservation. The Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is the most accessible fund which allows community participation and empowers them to decide on priority projects which are need based. National Coordinating Agency for Population and Development (NCAPD) formulates advocates and coordinates the implementation of population policies. It leads in advocacy campaigns for resource allocation to population, reproductive health and family planning programmes. New Partnership for Africas Development (NEPAD) is spearheading the entrenchment of good governance in Kenya through the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM). The Government has established a Vision Delivery Secretariat (VDS) to coordinate the implementation of the Kenya Vision 2030. The Kenya Vision 2030 is the long term development strategy whose aim is to transform Kenya into a globally competitive, middle income country offering a high quality of life for Kenyans by the year 2030.
