Elimar believes that the Kingdom of God is present where faith in Jesus Christ is shared, where healing is given to the sick, where food is given to the hungry, where light is given to the blind, and where liberty is given to the captive and oppressed. United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) 1. Transparency - As a community of believers united in one faith, UCCP emphasizes transparency as one of its guiding principles. On the first mass of each year, the annual budget of the local church is clearly presented to its members. As part of such practice, weekly collections are also presented. An itemized list of expenses are given, and it is where planned programs and activities of the church are seen. Consequently, this prepares the members on what may occur in the duration of the whole year. Moreover, organizations within the church also make their announcements each and every mass to inform the members regarding their plans, achievements, and other matters that may concern the members. Transparency therefore is not just about informing the members about plans, but its also about informing the members on what they can and should do. 2. A strong sense of community - Aside from transparency, UCCP also fosters the value of inclusiveness within the church. It encourages the broadest participation of the constituency, and seeks ways to inspire commitment, encourage and generate support. As much as possible, its members also seek ways on how they can become of help to the community. Such ways include lending a hand during calamities and conducting outreach programs even without natural catastrophes. In some cases, churches also serve lunch, coffee, or bread after the mass. This time is given for the members to bond with each other. Furthermore, Sunday schools and bible studies are conducted. This is the churchs way to nurture the faith of the members, and also to develop the mutal relationship shared among all members.
