Frequently Asked Questions

Q Does the Microchip PCAP code perform self or mutual capacitance measurements? A Our code does both. We optimize speed and performance by using a combination of both methods. Q What patterns do we support? A This design supports a diamond pattern. Our code also supports additional patterns that will be available on the mTouch Sensing Solutions design center. Q What is the maximum channels supported? A 13 18 is the maximum channels supported with the MTCH6301 device. This generally covers touch pad sizes from 1.5" to 4.3". Q What cover lens overlay materials can this design support? A This design uses a 1.5 mm acrylic overlay, but materials up to 3 mm plastic and 5 mm glass are possible.

Capabilities

Single or two nger draw: Draw on the touch pad and see the fully processed touch coordinates on the display. The demo will automatically go into Sleep Mode after a set amount of time. This feature is adjustable in rmware. The Mini Map displays nger location and number of touches detected.

Perform one of these single touch gestures decoded in rmware and see the icon in the display above.
