EXHIBITION DESIGN WORKFLOWS AND BEST PRACTICES, SPATIAL NARRATIVE BUILDING, AND VECTORWORKS 2012

Studying under the Director of Exhibition Design for one of the most innovative cultural institutions in Dallas, my core project has been to design a show of paintings by Texas artist, Loren Mozley, from start to nish. I managed a collaborative process that guided group consensus on the construction plans, layout of artworks, paint colors, and graphic identity of the show by using digital and physical mock-ups to communicate with the Curator of American Art and the exhibitions sta.

BRANDING, WEB DESIGN, DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION TECHNIQUES, AND CLIENT MANAGEMENT

I wanted to take on more penetrating design work than what I was being asked to do at my job, so I started E.Clark Design Project. I partner with my clients throughout the design process, determining how best to translate their vision and objectives into stunning imagery that activates consumers. To date, my work has launched four new businesses, and helped others bring in new customers, ll events, and educate homeless children. Samples at emilyclark.info.

In my position at SP Magazines, I learned how to come up with a visual strategy quickly while creating from-scratch ad designs for six dierent publications with a monthly circulation of 95,000 issues. Monthly production responsibilities also included assisting with content layout, managing ad updates and seasonal redesigns, and balancing editorial duties, such as content management and production for all six magazines that would foster relationships between our readers and advertisers. Additionally, I streamlined operations by designing and maintaining a database for written content and one for cover images.

AUDIENCE-SPECIFIC CONTENT CREATION WITH EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND EVENT PLANNING

The Crow Collection is the most comprehensive collection of Asian Art in Dallas, so I got an unparalleled opportunity to make creative use of my non-western art history education. I applied both written skills and design techniques to communicate the social and historical impact of the unfamiliar-looking Asian art on display through researching and developing supplementary literature for educational events, such as teacher training nights, docent presentations, and arts festivals. I also assisted education department sta in developing lesson plans and art projects for childrens events.
