Graphia Will Find His Way Back Home

Kean Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Gary P. Graphia has re-joined the firm. A partner in the firm until 1999, Gary served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SHAW / now CB&I) from 1999 until 2007. After building and managing one of the largest corporate legal departments in the region, he was elevated to Executive Vice President for Corporate Development and Strategy and became the companys Chief Operating Officer in 2008 until he retired in May 2012. During his tenure, Gary managed several administrative and functional departments and oversaw a number of high profile projects including Shaws acquisition of Stone & Webster, the companys acquisition of IT Group, and Shaws investment in Westinghouse. We are excited to welcome a seasoned attorney with Garys personal reputation, legal skills, and business acumen to our law firm. Our relationship with Gary started in the early 1990s. Weve been very fortunate to work with him over the years. As someone who has practiced law for many years, but also acted as an executive for a large business, Gary will be able to provide our clients with a unique perspective. Graphia Prior to re-joining Kean Miller, Gary effectively and creatively managed regional, national, and global projects involving teams of in-house counsel, outside counsel, corporate leadership, major financial institutions, Wall Street banks, and global accounting professionals. He has overseen numerous corporate transactions, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and public capital market transactions. He recently served his home state of Louisiana as Executive Counsel to Governor Bobby Jindal. I grew up surrounded by the law. My father was a lawyer and judge for 18 years. I joined Kean Miller in 1995 as a young associate, and was trained by some of the best attorneys around. When I left as a partner to build a legal department for Shaw, I relied on my friends and partners at the firm for all manner of corporate legal advice. To return home to Kean Miller,
