Lesson Title: Easter Egg Hunt Review

Grade Level: 3-5

State Standards: 4.4.1- Identify, draw, and classify angles, including straight, right, obtuse, and acute. 4.4.6- Identify, draw, label, and describe points, line segments, rays, and angles. 4.7.1- Identify, classify, compare, and draw regular and irregular polygons. Student Objectives: Students will review key vocabulary words for the following test. Students will become proficient in the vocabulary words Based on their knowledge, students will be able to draw out the vocabulary words Vocabulary: Vocabulary on pg 589 and pg 621 (M u s s e r , G a r y L . , B l a k e E . P e t e r s o n , a n d W i l l i a m F . B u r g e r .

Assessment Group Oral Informal observations

Materials: Easter eggs, assorted colors (# of eggs depends on # of students and # of vocabulary words) Colored sticks for grouping (# of sticks depends on # of students) Markers Prize ( Treat, pencils, notebooks, erasers, etc (teacher chooses)) A bag for each group( to put eggs in) Procedure: Teacher Prep: 1. Write vocabulary DEFFINITIONS on a piece of paper and put it inside an egg. 2. Hide the eggs around the classroom. Activity: 1. Group students accordingly by having them choose a colored stick. The color you get is the group you will be in. 2. Each group will go around the classroom looking for their colored eggs (color of eggs is color on stick) if you find another groups eggs you must put it back. Note: group must look for eggs together so each group member will be able to contribute to the answers. Groups working individually will be asked to sit down and wont be allowed to participate for the rest of the activity. 3. When you find one of your eggs, you must open it and write the vocabulary word that corresponds to the definition on the back of the paper. Draw the vocabulary word on the egg (Ex: if you get the definition of a circle, draw a circle). Put it inside your bag. 4. Repeat step 3 until you find all of your eggs (# of eggs will be decided by teacher). 5. Once all eggs are found you will go and check your answers with the teacher. 6. The first group to find all their eggs and get all the vocabulary words correct is the winner. Assessment: Teacher will check answers (as instructed above) Closure: Each group will share one of their vocabulary words.
