The jobs involved preparation, fitment and painting of Steel plates and Steel structure, Checks on piping fitment and layouts, cathodic protection, quality of welding as per Standards. April 2000 to June 2002 Mazagon Dock Limited, Warship Overseeing Team, Mumbai Constructor Overseer Hull Administered smooth progress of construction activity of major warships under production at the premier shipbuilding yard in India, Mazagon Docks Ltd. Design, development and fitment inspections of equipment layouts, piping layouts, structural fittings and line out inspection of compartments. Documentation control of Piping and other disciplines, follow up for Fabrication status for execution. Review of P&ID's, Layouts, GADs, Isometrics & various piping related drawings and documents.

Jan 1998 to April 2000 Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Manager Planning and Offloading Headed the Hull Ship Repair, Planning and outfitting activities of the yard comprising of a workforce of 500 industrial workers involving coordination and inventory management. Conducted offloading including Vendor assessment, technical and commercial negotiations for procurements and contract, budget monitoring, approval and authorization of payments. Functioned as a head of welding and outfitting Shops of the yard, Planning and resource allocation for repair and refit for nearly 25 ships, crafts. Managed Multiple (Off centerline) dry-docking of four naval vessels on a Floating Dry-dock. Recommended for commendation of the Chief of Naval Staff (Indian Navy) for professional excellence.

May 1995 to Dec 1997 Director General Naval Projects, Mumbai Deputy Manager, Dry Dock Project Functioned as a core member of team for design, construction and supervision of a dry dock project as a part of major infrastructure augmentation in the Naval Dockyard. Designed a caisson gate for the dry dock and brought in major structural design changes as part of modernization of the dock to include larger vessels. Handled assessment, development and pre-bid qualifications of vendors for procurement of specialized drydock equipments like sky rise platforms, open and vacuum blasting machinery, underwater painting equipments, jetty cranes, dock blocks etc. Designed the dry-dock bed, concrete wall structure, steel caisson gates (Floating gates) and associated structures.

Aug 1994 to May 1995 Hull Inspection and Trials Unit, Mumbai Deputy Manager Undertook inspection of steel hull of Indian naval ships for maintenance standards, quality of underwater paints, application of paints and acceptance for sea worthiness. Formulation and conduct of performance trials of ship borne systems on new construction ships and during refits. Render periodic causative analysis reports on failures of ship borne equipments and recommend preventive measures based on in depth study.

June 1992 to Aug 1994 Naval Dockyard, Mumbai Assistant Manager Planned, coordinated and completed timely refits of 12 major warships encompassing dry dock activities. Conducted Research and Development of new indigenous under water paints for warships. Executed projects such as commissioning of patent slipway, up gradation of Boat repair shop facility of the yard. Allocation of resources i.e. Man/Material/ Machine on shop floors.
