duty operation with beam filtration of 0.07 inches Beryllium (and 0.010 inches stainless steel on older systems). The lead cabinet is fully interlocked such that the main power to the X-ray Tube is removed when any access panel is opened. When the Agilent 5DX System is installed at the customers site, the equipment is surveyed by trained service people. A full radiation safety survey is performed and a report generated. The survey is made using an appropriate device and a Health Physics ion chamber according to procedures on record with the CDRH. The end user is responsible for registering the equipment with their local and state authorities and the duties as specified in the applicable local legislation. Agilent warrants that the Agilent 5DX automated process test systems meets X-ray safety regulations in the following countries:

This product complies with EN 55011 (CISPR 11) Group 1, Class A for conducting emissions. The product exceeds the EN55011 (CISPR 11) Group 1, Class A limit for radiated emissions by less than 10 dB when measured on a test site at a distance of 30 meters. Therefore, some site preparations may have to be done in order to comply with the Class A limit in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 1 GHz for radiated emissions at 30 meters from the exterior wall of a building in which the equipment is installed. See the figure below for an illustration of the site calculations. To obtain the necessary attenuation at the Customers site, perform these calculations (if the calculated site attenuation (A) is less than 10 dB, contact the Technical Regulatory Support Engineer (TRSE) in your country): 1 The attenuation of a concrete wall (W) (without any openings) = 10 dB 2 The distance (D) (the distance from the equipment to the exterior wall plus 30 meters) increases the attenuation by X and can be calculated as follows:
A=n*W+X Where: A = total attenuation in dB n = number of concrete walls within distance D W = 10 (dB)

Radiated Interference
For all products installed in Europe (EEC Countries), the EMC Directive 89/336/EEC must be met. For all products installed in Australia and New Zealand, the Australian standard AS/NZS 2064.1/2 must be met.
X = 20 * log (D/30) Where: X = attenuation in dB D = distance in meters 3 The total attenuation (A) is calculated as follows:

This product is reviewed against the EC Directives EMC 89/336/EEC, its amendments, and the Australian EMC standard AS/NZS 2064.1/2. The system was tested according to the EMC standard IEC 61326 Edition 2.0:2002-02. The Directive 89/336/EEC article 10(2) permits the filing of a Technical Construction File (TCF) to provide the necessary information to meet the applicable EMC requirements. The installation instructions that follow must be met to meet the EMC requirements. Refer the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) for further information. Installation Instructions

consideration of available walls or walls to be installed. When the location is finally determined, make an overall calculation of the Available Site Attenuation. The Available Site Attenuation must be greater than the Required Site Attenuation! If it is not possible to ensure that the Available Site Attenuation is greater than the Required Site Attenuation with the use of distance and walls, other shielding methods must be employed. Other shielding methods, like conductive wall paper, metallized walls, use of a shielded cabin, etc. require an approval test ("in situ") by a local (PTT) agency. Appropriate arrangements have to be organized. For the Series 5000 and 5000XL, the Target Site Attenuation is 10 dB.
meet the required installed radiation limit levels. If your site has an allowance from a local Postal, Telegraph & Telephone (PTT) agency to exceed the levels of radiation, this allowance should be considered.
Subtract this Site Allowance from the Target Site Attenuation, required for this product, to determine the Required Site Allowance for this installation:
Required Site Attenuation = Target Site Attenuation Site Allowance Based on the location where the system is to be installed, obtain the Available Site Attenuation. This can be determined by using the Calculating Method below. Some site preparations may have to be done. Try to optimize the location as well as the

A=n*W+X where n is the number of concrete walls within the distance D - 30m, and W, given above, is 10 dB. Calculate the Available Site Attenuation for your installation. The Available Site Attenuation should be greater than the Required Site Attenuation. You can calculate the Required Site Attenuation, R, using the formula:
Required Site Attenuation = Target Site Attenuation Site Allowance You may need to optimize your installation for attenuation. If you need to change the location of your equipment, you can refer to the following relationship: Figure 2 Determining the Available Site Attenuation D = 30 * log-1((R - 10 * n) / 20) The attenuation of a concrete wall without any openings, W, is 10 dB. Let D be the distance in meters from the equipment to the exterior wall plus 30 meters. This distance, D, produces the attenuation, X, measured in dB per the following relationship: X = 20 * log (D/30) The Available Site Attenuation, A, measured in dB is calculated as follows: where R >= (10 * n), else D = 30.
Table 2-1 shows the results of using the Calculating Method when no site allowance is permitted. In this example, the attenuation of a concrete wall without any openings, W, is 10 dB, and the Remaining Attenuation Requirement = R - n*W.
xvii
Note that the Remaining Attenuation Requirement cannot be less than 0. If R <(10 * n), then D = 30. Table 2-1 Results of using the Calculating Method where no site allowance is permitted. Compliance at installation of this equipment will then meet the requirements for allowable radiation levels of this Class A product as described in CISPR 11/EN55011.

Emergency Stop
The Emergency Stop Subsystem is used to quickly shutdown the power to the 5DX Main Cabinet. The Emergency Stop Subsystem is intended for crisis situations only and should not be used as the normal means to stop the 5DX. CAUTION Emergency Stop Buttons are intended for use ; The in emergency situations only and should not be used for normal system shutdown. Repeated misuse of the Emergency Stop Buttons will eventually cause damage to certain components or the loss of data or both. The 5DX System is equipped with two Emergency Stop Buttons as shown in Figure 3 on page xx. The Emergency Stop Buttons are located on either side of the 5DX System Main Cabinet.
