It stands for Vitkin and S i m mo n s (ou r l a st n a mes, even though Im not r eally involved) . I c h ose bl ue a n d red to cr eate contrast and sym bolize the 2 d i f fe ren t a sp e cts (ma r keting and design) of the com pany. This i s a l so th e i nsp i ra ti on for the stagger ed look of the logotype. S h e p rovi de s two d i fferent ser vices that ar e som ewhat sim ilar, bu t u n i qu e i n th e i r ow n r ight. I chose to use im ages of Ann A r b or fo r the mai n h e a der s because that is wher e she is based o u t o f, a n d w he re most clients ar e fr om as well. I c h ose H el veti ca b e ca use of its m oder n look, ver satility, and r e a da b i l i ty. Wi th H el vetica you can use differ ent styles of the s a me fo n t (I use d co n d ensed, r egular, and light) and each has a ver y d i fferen t fe e l . T h e web fonts ar e set to helvetica and g a ramon d resp e cti vel y, but will default to ser if, and sans- ser if i f t h o se a re n o t ava i l a ble.
