API Naming & Logos (available at developer.lovefilm.com)


Application name guidelines
LOVEFiLM can be used as part of an application name, but cannot be the first word of that name. For example, QuizMaster for LOVEFiLM, or Geoffs LOVEFiLM List Manager. This ensures the LOVEFiLM name is used in accordance with brand guidelines, but makes it clear to the user that LOVEFiLM has not designed, built or sponsored the application. To keep things consistent for our members, please use only the approved electronic files when you use our logos. Please note that any additional icons found on the LOVEFiLM site are not available for use.

Essential Attribution
The LOVEFiLM API logo (or delivered by LOVEFiLM in text) must be used wherever your app appears. The logo (or text) must link to http://www.lovefilm.com. It must also be used next to where your application appears in the UI.

Layout examples
To avoid misunderstanding, a LOVEFiLM app must appear alongside other brands; it cannot be the primary or only brand seen. See examples below for how the LOVEFiLM brand might appear in situ alongside yours. OR your brand might appear in situ alongside the LOVEFiLM brand

Logo usage

In order to maintain the integrity and consistency of the brand, please follow these rules when using the logo. This applies to all versions of the logo. The logo must maintain its relative proportions the elements must  never be resized independently of each other The colours of the logo must never be changed from the specification  in this guide  The logo must never be recreated, imitated or mimicked  The logo must never be obstructed as this affects its legibility The logo must never be skewed or distorted do not change its shape

There are three key elements at the very foundation of our tone of voice: Is it customer focused? Everything we do is focused on helping our customers get more from the LOVEFiLM service, always highlighting how they will benefit. Is it honest and straight talking? We dont hide things from our customers, we give them the facts, and take things like our exceptional service, money saving features and free trials as standard. Is it entertaining, warm and witty? Reading something from LOVEFiLM should never be boring. We like to be clear and concise, with a little humour and warmth. Different customer groups require different levels of this.

Key Messages Key messages focus on what we do best and what we know is attractive to the customer. Key messages should be used whenever possible to explain how the service works. Always keep the key messages in this order. The messages in brackets are optional depending on your audience.
