The full text of Dan Winslow's concession speech is below: "I want to start off by saying that Im so proud

of the campaign I ran and the people who helped me run it. Im proud of the ideas we put forward, Im proud to have received the endorsement of every major newspaper in Massachusetts, and Im proud of all the people who helped support my candidacy. When I was a Judge in Wrentham, the jury would often times come back to me for a post sentencing conversation on whether they made the right decision or not. In this case, the jury has given their verdict, and that is the greatness of our system. Democracy has prevailed. There has been a lot of talk during this election about postponing the vote due to the Boston bombings and the people of Massachusetts understandably bristled at the idea. Wanton acts of violence only serve to strengthen our resolve in Massachusetts: The citizens of Massachusetts today voted for Gabriel Gomez, the citizens will vote again in June and the citizens of Massachusetts and this country will keep on voting no matter the circumstances. The Democratic process will always prevail over those who would use force and violence and intimidation over the ballot box. The Republican party fielded three great candidates in this election. And I want to give a shout out to my good friend Mike Sullivan. I said during the campaign that as the oldest of four brothers I was used to scrapping it up with them but at the end of the day we're still brothers. I called Mike before coming out today and I said 'Mike, you're still my brother' and he agreed. We're both very honored to be part of this process. The citizens of Massachusetts have chosen an impressive candidate in our Republican primary. Ive gotten to know Gabriel Gomez over these last months, and I can tell you one thing for sure: he is not a career politician, but he sure as hell can beat one. We debated six times during this condensed primary. As a former Judge, Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor, and State Representative I came into the race thinking I could mop the floor with Gabriel Gomez. Well he proved me wrong. I shouldn't have counted him out so easily because Gabriel Gomez has been proving people wrong his entire life. As the son of Columbian immigrants he proved people wrong by graduating from the Naval Academy and becoming a naval aviator. He proved people wrong again when he gave up his pilot wings to risk everything to become a Navy SEAL. He proved people wrong when he left the Navy for Harvard Business School and launched a successful career in the business world. And hes going to prove people wrong again in June when he defeats Eddie Markey and becomes the first Latino Senator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Eddie Markey is the weakest candidate that the Democratic machine has nominated for the U.S. Senate in living history. The Democratic establishment and the extreme interests groups have cheated Steve Lynch out of this nomination. Steve Lynch would have been the working mans candidate. Instead the Democrats have nominated the lobbyist's candidate. More than half of the Massachusetts electorate are independent voters. Eddie Markey lost his independence years ago, and the people of this commonwealth will not choose him to represent them. I have every confidence of that. Gabriel Gomez is a pillar of independence; Gabriel Gomez represents the majority opinion of the Massachusetts voter. Gabriel Gomez hasnt spent a lifetime in Congress being bought and paid for by special interests. I look forward to doing all that I can to support his candidacy. I look forward to exercising my democratic right in June to vote for Gabriel and I look forward to seeing him as our next U.S.

Senator. I said at the beginning of this campaign that I was going to go big, or go home. Well things didn't work out for me this campaign and now it's time to go home. I'm proud of the race that I ran, I'm proud of the Democratic process that I was honored to participate in, and I'd like to thank everybody for their support. God Bless the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and God Bless the United States of America. Thank you.
