INTRODUCTION
Nature provides humans beings with all the resources needed for their survival. Mankind as the single intelligent being on the planet transforms the surrounding elements according to its needs. Countless manufactured products are disposed of as refuse after their use. Human ingenuity shows its distinction once again and interacts in an infinite recreation process, giving new purpose to that which it produced and discarded. This is the purpose of the Re-action Sustainable Products Project: an idea that was conceived at the EEEP Dr. Jos Alves da Silveira Technical and Vocational School, and whose objective is the recycling and reutilization of Tetra Pak cartons, plastic packs, polyethylene terephthalate (pet) bottles, glass, and rubber scrap from shoe manufacturing industries, to produce useful products for the society.

METHODOLOGY
This work is the result of the cooperative union of environmental projects of EEEP Dr. Jos Alves da Silveira Technical and Vocational School. The Re-action Project therefore follows a continued line of research focused on didactic reading, browsing of websites, visits to local companies and viewing of thematic videos, enabling students to learn from a continued combination of theory and practice. The methodology also includes donation and selective collection campaigns involving several types of packagings, which are employed in the creation of new products through recycling.

RESULTS
The Project's results can be seen in practice. Upon entering the school, visitors will find, in addition to the thermal insulation blankets that originated the Project, a diversity of utility products such as: purses, wallets, bags, protective covers for cars, mouse pads, jewelry boxes, gift boxes, personal ornaments, all produced from Tetra Pak cartons. From plastic packs they produce braided hammocks, bracelets, bags and keychains. From the rubber material discarded by the local footwear industry they produce low-cost bricks that can be used in the civil construction industry.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
To recycle is to convert used material objects into new products suitable for consumption. Such need emerged from the moment that human beings began to see the benefits the Earth enjoys from such practice. The recycling process, in addition to preserving the environment, also generates wealth and contributes to a significant reduction of pollution in our soil, water and air. By encouraging such actions, EEEP Dr. Jos Alves da Silveira Technical and Vocational School

creates an environment that arouses and develops the creativity of its students, instilling in them a spirit of citizenship, collectivity and solidarity. Therefore, the School's initiative to support the Project is aimed at both the scientific and socioenvironmental education of students. Many other values are added, such as: reduction in production costs and the promotion of business opportunities in the reutilization and recycling of different kinds of materials.
