Family members of Students residing in Spain

For duration less than 90 days The following documents are essential for a complete visa application. Application Form: Application for Schengen Visa

The application can be submitted personally or by an authorized person at the VFS centre; or at the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi/Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai (subject to prior appointment).

If the application is being submitted directly at the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi or Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai, then the fee must be paid via bank draft payable at New Delhi/Mumbai in favor of EMBASSY OF SPAIN, NEW DELHI or CONSULATE GENERAL OF SPAIN, MUMBAI, in accordance with the place of application. The applicant must write his/her name, date of birth, and passport number behind the draft. A photocopy of the draft must be submitted along with the application.

Passport of the applicant with at least two blank pages, which should be valid for at least three months after the duration of intended stay. This document should have been issued in the last ten (10) years. Photocopy of all the pages of the previous (if any) and the present passport must be submitted.

Original Application form for Schengen Visa duly filled in and signed by the applicant in blue ball point ink. A recent photograph (35-45 mm) of the applicant with white background must be attached in the application form. The application form must be correctly filled, facilitating all the possible information requested in the form including postal address, email address and telephone number.

In case of minors (below 18 years), the application form must be signed by either or both the parents. Photocopies of passports of both the parents, attested by notary public, must be attached. Two photocopies of the application form along with two recent photographs (35-45 mm) of the applicant with white background.

Letter from the educational centre in Spain stating that the inviting person is presently a registered student at the educational centre. The letter must also mention the complete duration of the course.

Original Bank statements of the applicant for last three months.

Personal Income tax returns for the last three years.

Proof of accommodation during the stay in Spain.

Flight tickets for the entire sector of travel.

Proof of travel insurance (for the entire duration of stay in Spain) to cover the expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and /or emergency hospital treatment. The insurance must be valid throughout the Schengen territory and cover the entire period of the persons stay. The minimum coverage will be of 30,000 Euros or 50.000 US dollars.

Covering letter from the applicant, explaining in detail the purpose of the visit. Invitation letter issued by Policia Nacional de Espaa.

Attested copy of the passport and the residence card of the person living in Spain.

Marriage certificate of the applicant issued by the competent authorities of the country.

Birth certificate of child (ren) of the residing person, issued by the competent authorities of the country.

If the applicant is not a national of India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal or the Maldives, a proof of his/her legal residence in any of these countries (Residence permit).

Authorization form signed in original by the applicant, in favor of VFS 1. To submit the application on behalf of the applicant. 2. To collect any notification issued by the Embassy of Spain/Consulate General of Spain. 3. To collect the passport on behalf of the applicant. In case of minors, this form must be signed by both the parents.

For duration more than 90 days- less than 180 days The following documents are essential for a complete visa application. Application Form: Application for National Visa.

The application must be submitted personally by the applicant at the Embassy of Spain in New Delhi or Consulate General of Spain in Mumbai, strictly in accordance with the current place of residence of the applicant. Applications sent by courier or by post are not entertained.

The fee must be paid via bank draft payable at New Delhi/Mumbai in favor of EMBASSY OF SPAIN, NEW DELHI or CONSULATE GENERAL OF SPAIN, MUMBAI, in accordance with the place of application. The applicant must write his/her name, date of birth, and passport number behind the draft. A photocopy of the draft must be submitted along with the application.

Passport of the applicant which should be valid for at least the duration of stay for which the visa is being applied. Photocopy of all the pages of the previous (if any) and present passport must be submitted.

Proof of sufficient economic means to support the stay of the applicant in Spain for the entire duration of stay.

If the applicant is not a national of India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal or the Maldives, a proof of his/her legal residence in any of these countries (Residence permit)

Spouse
The following documents are essential for a complete visa application. India: Marriage Certificate issued and signed by the Registrar of Marriages in English with photocopy. This document must bear the stamp of Apostille of Hague, issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

Nepal: Marriage Certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriages and legalized by the Ministry of Local Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Consulate of Nepal in New Delhi and photocopy.

Official literal translation of the marriage certificate by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Law Books Management Board, legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi.

SriLanka: Marriage Certificate issued by the Registrar of Marriages and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi and photocopy. Official Translation by an official translator and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi.

Maldives: Marriage Certificate issued by the Family or Magistrate Court of the country. This document must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and the High Commission of Maldives in New Delhi.

Bhutan: Marriage Certificate issued by the Royal Court of Justice of Bhutan. This document must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan and the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi.

Children
The following documents are essential for a complete visa application. India: Original Birth Certificate of the applicant issued and signed by the Registrar of Birth and Death with photocopy. This document must bear the stamp of Apostille of Hague, issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

SriLanka: Original Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Birth and Death and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Consulate of Sri Lanka in New Delhi and photocopy.

Official Translation by an official translator and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the Consulate of Sri Lanka in New Delhi.

Nepal: Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Birth and Death and legalized by the Ministry or Local Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Consulate of Nepal in New Delhi and photocopy.

Official translation of the birth certificate by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Law Books Management Board, legalized by the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and the Consulate of Nepal in New Delhi.

Maldives: Birth Certificate issued by the City Council. This document must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and the High Commission of Maldives in New Delhi.

Bhutan: Birth Certificate issued by Department of Civil Registration, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs. This document must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan and the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi.

Medical Certificate issued by any registered medical practitioner and photocopy stating that "the applicant is not suffering from any disease that can have repercussions any on the public health in accordance with the International Sanitary Act 2005".

In case of Delhi, only medical certificates issued by the following hospitals will be accepted: Max Healthcare, Fortis Hospitals, Primus Super Speciality Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The document, at the time of submission, must be less than three months old.

Police Clearance Certificate issued by the competent authorities of the country. In case of India, this certificate must be issued by the Regional Passport Office and must bear the stamp of Apostille of Hague issued by Ministry of External Affairs, India. In case of Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Bhutan, the certificate must be issued by the corresponding competent authorities. This document must further be legalized by the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Mission of the country in New Delhi. The document, at the time of submission, must be less than three months old.

In case the applicant has resided in any other country during the last five years, a Criminal Record Certificate must be submitted along with the stamp of Apostille of Hague or legalization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Mission of the country in New Delhi( which ever be applicable).
