Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the TONEWORKS PANDORA PX4B Bass Personal Multi Effect Processor. In order to enjoy your PANDORA PX4B, please read this owners manual carefully and retain it for future reference.

Amp modeling selector and control knobs You can quickly and easily select ten types of amp models and bass synths. Infrared transmitter built-in Infrared wireless headphones can be used for remote wireless monitoring. Backlit LCD The LCD screen can be easily viewed even in dark locations. Auto Tuner function This feature makes tuning fast and easy. You can also tune without being heard (i.e., while muted). AUX pitch function You can transpose an audio source from a CD player or other device connected to the AUX jack, and erases the bass from a song for play along purposes (Bass Cancel function) --- a great way to practice!

Main features
The PX4B is a highly versatile multi-effect device in a compact package. It makes it easy to use Korg's proprietary " " modeling technology to create detailed and powerful modeling sounds. 122 types of effect variations A maximum of seven effects can be used simultaneously. Rhythm function The PX4B can play 100 rhythm patterns (including metronome). Multiple patterns can also be connected for successive playback. Phrase Trainer function Sound from a CD player or bass can be recorded (maximum of 31.7 seconds), and played back as a loop. The playback speed can then be slowed down without affecting the pitch of the sound. The rhythm selected in Rhythm mode and the bass output can also be recorded simultaneously. TAP button You can easily set the Delay Time or the tempo of the Rhythm function to match the tempo of the song. Value dial This lets you rapidly select programs or edit the effects.

Turning on the power

Remove the battery cover located on the bottom of the PX4B by sliding it in the direction of the arrow. Insert four AAA alkaline batteries as shown in the illustration. Be sure to insert the batteries observing the correct polarity.

An AC adapter is not included with this product. It must be purchased separately.

Controls and connectors

Battery Low display

When the battery begins to run down, the Low Battery icon will light. When this icon lights, replace the batteries as soon as possible. Programs and other data (except for the data being edited) will not be lost even if the battery is removed and changed.
Batteries that have run down must be removed from the PX4B. If you leave dead batteries in the unit, malfunctions (battery leakage, etc.) may occur. You should also remove the batteries when you do not expect to use the PX4B for an extended period of time.

1 Control knobs
These knobs control the tone, and volume of the amp modeling.

2 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) 3 TUNE/BYPASS button 4 EXIT button

This button returns you back to Play mode from any mode.

5 ENTER/REC button
This button is used to switch an effect on/off, or to start recording in Phrase Trainer mode.

C / buttons
Use these buttons to select the parameter that you wish to edit, and to operate the Phrase Trainer function.

6 Input level switch

Use this to adjust the input level (appropriate for the output level of your bass).

D Power switch/Backlight switch

This switch turns the power On/Off, and also turns the backlight On/Off.
Using the backlight and/or infra-red wireless headphone transmitter, significantly shortens the lifespan of the batteries.

7 Amp Modeling selector

Select the type of amp modeling.

8 L/M buttons
Use these buttons to select programs and edit effects.

E Value dial
Use this to adjust the master level, edit effects, and select programs.

9 OUTPUT jack
Connect this jack to your bass amp or headphones etc.

F TAP button
You can set the Delay Time by pressing this button twice at the desired tempo of delay. In Rhythm mode, you can set the tempo of the rhythm in the same way.

0 INPUT jack
Connect your bass to this jack.

A AUX jack (stereo)

Connect this jack to a CD player or other audio source.

G Mode buttons
Use these buttons to enter the Rhythm, Phrase Trainer, or AUX Pitch modes.

The separately sold AC adapter (DC 4.5V ) should be connected here.

This icon will light when the infrared transmitter is on.

6 Edit/Original icons
The EDIT icon will light when you enter Edit mode. If the parameter or value being edited matches the value that is written in the program, the ORIG icon will light.

This area indicates the on/off status of the DYNA, AMP, CAB, MOD, DLY, and REV effects

7 Program number/value display

This displays the program number. When you change the Master Level, its value will be displayed here for several seconds. During editing, this displays the parameter values.

2 Program name/Effect type display

This area shows the program name or effect type. When the PX4B is bypassed or muted, this will display as the tuner.

8 Master/Value icons, bar graph

When MASTER is lit, the master level of the program is indicated graphically. When VALUE is lit, the value of the parameter is indicated graphically.

This icon will light when the batteries run down.

These icons will light when you are in the AUX Pitch, Phrase Trainer, or Rhythm modes.

When connecting an external device (ie-bass amp, stereo, ac adapter, etc) be sure to turn the unit off.

Initial Settings
1. When you finish making connections, set the power switch in the ON position. (This setting is referred to as Play mode.) Use the L/M buttons to select a program. 2. Set the input level switch to a position appropriate for the output level of your bass. Hi: Basses with a high output level (Active) Lo: Basses with a low output level (Passive) 3. Set the volume control of the bass to its usual position. Use the Value dial to adjust the master level. If you want to use the infrared transmitter function, refer to p.26 of Edit mode, "8) TX (Infrared transmitter)."

Quick Edit
In each mode (except when Mute/Bypass or Key Lock are active), you can use the Amp Modeling selector to quickly change the amp modeling type, or use the control knobs to adjust the tone, or volume of amp modeling. When you move a control knob, the parameter name and value will appear for several seconds in the value display. If the setting matches the original setting, the ORIG icon will light. The Delay Time of Delay Modeling can also be set by pressing the TAP button twice at the desired interval (except when in Rhythm mode). To check the Delay Time that was specified, press and hold the TAP button for two seconds or longer.
When you use the Amp modeling selector to choose an amp, the PX4B will automatically select the most suitable cabinet model and turn it on. Settings that you make using Quick Edit will return to the original settings of the program if you change programs or turn off the power before Writing (see p.26).

Play mode
Play mode is the mode in which you will normally use the PX4B.

You can choose from 50 user programs (U01...U50) and 50 preset programs (P01...P50). Use the L/M buttons to select a program. Programs can be selected even when you are in Rhythm mode, AUX Pitch mode, or Phrase Trainer mode (except while recording).

2.Master level
When the MASTER icon is lit, the value graph will indicate the master level. When you turn the Value dial to adjust the master level, the master level value will be shown in the program number / value display for several seconds. The master level is remembered even when the power is turned off.

Bypass/mute will be turned off when you press the TUNE/BYPASS button once again. You can also return to Play mode by pressing the EXIT button. Bypass or Mute can also be entered from modes other than Play mode.

You can also adjust the settings so that the L/M buttons will adjust the master level. (See p.15)

4.Tuner
The tuner will operate when you bypass or mute.

3.Bypass/Mute
When you press the TUNE/BYPASS button, the PX4B will be bypassed, and the original sound will not be processed by any effect. The effect chain will blink, and the display will indicate BYPASS for approximately one second. If you press and hold the TUNE/BYPASS button for longer than one second, the output signal will be muted. The effect chain will blink rapidly, and the display will indicate MUTE for approximately one second.

Play a single string on your bass. The LCD will show the note name and the calibration. If the pitch is more than a semitone higher than the note name, a sharp symbol will appear at the upper right of the note name. The display area will act as a meter to show the pitch.

Tune the string of your bass so that the indicator above the center mark is lit. The tuner (bypass/mute) will be turned off when you press either the TUNE/BYPASS button. You can also return to Play mode by pressing the EXIT button. Calibration (frequency of the standard A = 440 pitch) You can use the Value dial to adjust calibration in the range of A = 438 Hz...445 Hz. The calibration setting you make will be valid until the power is turned off. Once the power is turned off, calibration will be reset to A = 440 Hz.

5.Specifying the function of the Value Dial

You can specify the function that the Value dial will perform in Play mode. In Play mode, hold down the EXIT button and press either the button or the button to assign the following functions. G Hold down the EXIT button and press the button. The LCD will indicate MASTER for approximately one second. The Value dial will adjust the master level, and the L/M buttons will select programs. You can use the Value dial to adjust the master level quickly. Each time the power is turned on, this setting will be in effect.

G Hold down the EXIT button and press the button. The LCD will indicate PROGRAM for approximately one second. The Value dial will select programs, and the L/M buttons will adjust the master level. You can use the Value dial to select programs quickly.

6.Key Lock function

By activating the Key Lock function, you can disable all operations except for selecting programs. This is a convenient way to prevent accidental operation during a live performance. Hold down the EXIT button and press the TUNE/ BYPASS button. The LCD will indicate KEYLOCK for approximately one second. The L/M buttons will select programs, and other buttons and the Value dial will not function.

If you want to change the function of the Value dial so that it will adjust the master level, hold down the EXIT button once again and press the button, or turn on the power once again.

Only program selection is possible

The Key Lock function will be cancelled when the power is turned off. You can also cancel the Key Lock function by performing "5.Specifying the function of the Value Dial"(p.15).

Rhythm mode
To enter Rhythm mode, press the RHYTHM button once when in Play mode (except for mute/ bypass or key lock), AUX Pitch mode, or Phrase Trainer mode. When you enter this mode, the Rhythm Pattern selection screen will appear, the selected rhythm will start, and the Rhythm mode icon will light. The indication of the value graph will change according to the pattern or tempo. This mode contains the following four parameters. Use / to select parameters, and use the Value dial and the TAP button to set the value of each parameter. If you select "CHAIN" as the rhythm pattern, there will be more chain pattern settings. (Refer to p.18, "Chain pattern settings")

If you select "JAM" as the recording mode in Phrase Trainer mode, the rhythm will sound with the pattern and tempo that you specify here. The settings you select here are remembered even when the power is turned off.

2.Tempo
Set the tempo in the range of 40208 bpm. You can also set the tempo by pressing the TAP button twice at the desired rhythm. For a 6/8 time signature, the tempo can be set in a range of =40208.

4.Rhythm Level
Use the Value dial to set the level of Rhythm sound. The bass note will be affected only if bass is turned on.

3.Rhythm Reverb Level

Use the Value dial to set the amount of Rhythm sound that will be sent to reverb modeling.

The same effect as for the bass is used for reverb. This parameter has no effect if you have selected a program that does not use reverb modeling, or if the reverb effect level is "0."

Chain Pattern settings

These parameters are added only if you select "CHAIN" as the rhythm pattern. Press the ENTER/REC button to access the Chain Parameter Select screen. Use the / buttons to select the location (1--8) for which you want to change the pattern, and use the value dial to select the pattern (p.40) that will play at that location. Use the L/M buttons to specify the number of times (1--8) that the selected pattern will repeat.

Phrase Trainer mode

An audio source from the AUX jack or a phrase you play on your bass can be recorded, and played back repeatedly as a loop. This provides a convenient way to practice by playing along with the repeating phrase. You can slow down the playback speed without affecting the pitch, which can help you to learn difficult phrases. If you select "JAM" as the recording mode, the rhythm you specified in Rhythm mode will be recorded simultaneously with the bass input, and looped.

In Play mode (except during bypass/mute or key lock), Rhythm mode, or AUX Pitch mode, press the PHRASE TRAINER button to enter Phrase Trainer mode. When you enter this mode, the recording mode and time select screen will appear, and the Phrase Trainer icon will blink.

Recording time

If the recording mode is set to "JAM," the maximum number of recordable measures will be automatically calculated from the tempo. Also, the audio quality will be automatically set according to the tempo and the specified number of measures.
If you select a long recording time (16 or 32), the audio quality of the recording will be lower. If the tempo of the rhythm is extremely slow, it will not be possible to record a large number of measures. Please re-specify the tempo in Rhythm mode (maximum length is approximately 31.7 seconds)

The recording mode will cycle through the following choices each time you press the PHRASE TRAINER button. Start playback on your CD or other audio source, and at the point where you wish to begin recording, press the ENTER/REC button. Recording will begin.
If the recording mode is "JAM," recording will begin after one measure of playback. If, after recording, you want to change the recording mode or recording time, press the PHRASE TRAINER button while playback is paused.

The recorded content will be lost when the power is turned off.

2.Recording
When you begin recording, the recording time will be indicated as a numerical value and by a value graph.
If the recording mode is set to "JAM," the recording time will not be displayed.

3.Playback
The recording phrase will playback as a loop. During playback or while paused, you can use the L/M buttons to select programs.

When you want to stop recording, press the ENTER/REC button or the [ ]. Recording will stop, and loop playback will begin automatically. If you do not stop recording, recording will continue until the selected recording time has elapsed, and loop playback will begin automatically. If the recording mode is "JAM," recording will end automatically at the specified number of measures, and will switch to loop playback.

Rotating the Value dial toward the left will slow down the playback speed without affecting the pitch. You can choose from six levels of playback speed: 100%, 90%, 80%, 75%, 66%, and 50%. During playback, you can press the [ ] button to rewind. By pressing the PHRASE TRAINER button, you can hold the sound that was being played at the moment you pressed the button (the Hold function). This is convenient when you need to hear individual notes in a phrase.

4.Pause
When you press the [ ] button, the playback will pause. Press the [ ] button once again, and playback will resume. Pressing the [ ] button while playback is paused will return you to the beginning of the recorded phrase.

AUX Pitch mode

In this mode you can transpose the key (pitch) of the sound from a CD or MD connected to the AUX jack. You can also apply the Bass Cancel effect to eliminate the low-frequency range. Press the AUX PITCH button to enter AUX Pitch mode. The AUX Pitch icon will light when you are in this mode. Each time you press the AUX PITCH button, you will alternate between Key Transpose Only and Key Transpose + Bass Cancel.

If you wish to re-record To re-record the phrase, press the [ ] button to pause the playback. Start the CD or other audio source, and press the ENTER/REC button at the beginning of the desired phrase. If you want to change the recording mode or time, press the PHRASE TRAINER button while paused.

By setting the Key Transpose setting to 0 and selecting Key Transpose + Bass Cancel, you can turn on only the Bass Cancel function. Press the EXIT button to return to Play mode.

The output will be mono in AUX Pitch mode. The AUX Pitch setting is remembered even when the power is turned off. For some input sources, Bass Cancel may not be as effective as you would like.

Edit mode
In this mode you can turn each effect On/Off, and edit the effect type, parameter values, and program name. In Play mode, press the (or ) button to access the DYNA effect edit (or WRITE) screen, entering Edit mode. In any screen of Edit mode, you can use the control knobs to edit Amp modeling, or use the TAP button to set the delay time of Delay modeling. Press the EXIT button to return to Play mode. Before writing If a program was not written after it was edited, the decimal After point of the program number will writing light.
The edited settings will return to the settings of the original program if you switch programs or turn off the power without performing the WRITE function (see p.27).

Use the Value dial to specify the amount of key transposition. The key can be transposed in a range of +/-1 octave.

The value can be adjusted upward and downward for 3 semitones in 10 cent steps, and in semitone steps (100 cents) for the remainder of the range.

This provides dynamic-type effects such as compressor, and pre-amp modeling.

For each effect, you can select the effect type and set its parameter values. Effects that are turned "FX OFF" will automatically be turned on if you press the ENTER/REC button or use the L/M buttons to select the effect type. For details "On" the effect types and parameters, refer to Effect Parameters (p.30). Renaming the program, infrared transmitter settings, and writing the program are also performed here. This produces sounds that models a bass amp.

The VOLUME control knob can be used to adjust the VOLUME even when the amp modeling effect is "FX OFF." The amp type selected by the Amp Modeling selector can be selected and edited even without entering Edit mode. When you use the Amp Modeling selector to select an amp, the PX4B will automatically select the most appropriate cabinet model and turn it on.

4) MOD (Modulation & Filter Effect Modeling)

These are modulation and filter-type effects such as chorus, flanger, phaser, and pitch shifter.

This simulates the acoustic characteristics of the bass amps cabinet. This is especially effective when you are not using an amp (e.g., when using headphones, or when connecting to a mixer, hard-disk recorder, or audio device).

These are spatial-type effects for which you can set the delay time by the interval at which you press the TAP button.

6) REV (Reverb Effect Modeling)

These are spatial-type effects that add spaciousness to the sound.

If the NR value is raised excessively, the sound may be cut off prematurely, depending on the device that is connected. If this occurs, reduce the value.

8) TX (Infrared transmitter)
Use the ENTER/REC button to turn the infrared transmitter On/Off.

7) NR (noise reduction)
Use the Value dial to adjust the depth of the noise reduction that is applied. Increasing this value will produce more noise reduction. Normally you will adjust this so that you do not hear obtrusive noise when the strings are lightly muted.

The infrared transmitter setting is common to all programs, and is remembered even when the power is turned off.
If the infrared transmitter is left on, the battery life will be shorter. If you are not using the infrared transmitter, you should turn it off.

9) RENAME
Here you can specify a name for each program. The following characters can be used: space, 0 9, AZ, , , , +, -, /.

When the program has been written, the LCD will indicate COMPLT for approximately one second.

Before writing an edited program into a different program number, be sure that you do not mind overwriting the data that is currently in that program number. The program data that is overwritten will be lost. It is not possible to write to a preset program.

10) WRITE
Here you can write (store) a program that you created. Use the Value dial to select the writing destination (User programs only). When you do so, the name of the program that currently occupies the writing destination will be displayed briefly. If you decide not to write, press the (or ) button to select a different screen. When you press the ENTER/REC button, the edited program will be written into memory.

3.Reloading the factory programs

While holding down the RHYTHM button and the L button, turn on the power. The LCD will ask RELOAD? If you press the ENTER/REC button, the factory-set programs will be re-loaded into the user program area. The display will indicate RELOAD, VERIFY, COMPLT for a short time, and then the power-on screen will appear.
Never turn off the power during the reload operation. If you decide not to reload the factory programs, press the EXIT button. The factory programs will not be reloaded; the normal power-on screen will appear, and the PX4B will be in Play mode. Be aware that if you reload the factory-set programs, the user programs and any settings that are remembered when the power is turned off (master level, infrared transmitter, etc.) will all be rewritten.

Troubleshooting
If the PX4B does not operate as you expect, please check the following points first. If this does not resolve the problem, contact your dealer. 1.Power does not turn on. Are batteries installed? Alternatively, is the correct AC adapter connected to an AC outlet? 2.No sound. Are your bass, amp and headphones connected to the correct jacks? Is your amp turned on and set correctly? Are any cables broken? Is the master level of the PX4B set to 0 or to a low level? The VOLUME control knob may have been turned down.

 Is the PX4B muted? Be aware that if all effects are off, the chain display will disappear, and it will not be possible to distinguish Bypass or Mute from the LCD display. Is the volume of your bass turned down? 3.When using the infrared transmitter, there is no sound or the sound is distorted. Is the infrared transmitter turned on? Is the power of your infrared wireless headphones turned on? In some cases, the output sound may be distorted because of the settings of the program. (Adjust the master level and/or program level.) Is there an obstructing object between the PX4B and the headphones? The PX4B's transmitter may be obstructed.

4.The volume from the device connected to the AUX jack is too loud or too soft, or cannot be heard. Adjust the output level of the connected device. Make connections to the headphone jack of the device, instead of to its line output. Are you in Phrase Trainer mode? Exit Phrase Trainer mode. Are you using a connection cable with a builtin resistor? 5.Effects do not apply. Is the PX4B bypassed? (the effect chain will be blinking) Are the effects used in the program turned on? 6.Tuner does not work. Is the PX4B bypassed or muted?

This effect may not operate correctly if two or more strings are played simultaneously, or when low-pitched strings are played. An effect that produces bell-like sounds. A ring modulator in which the effect changes dynamically depending on your picking strength.

AMP (Amp Modeling)

The control knobs (BASS, MIDDLE, TREBLE, VOLUME) will be active when you use amp modeling. If amp modeling is "FX OFF," only the VOLUME knob will be active. We recommend that you use this in conjunction with Cabinet modeling if you are using headphones, or if you are outputting to a direct line (such as when recording). When you use the Amp Modeling selector to select an amp, the PX4B will automatically select the most appropriate cabinet modeling and turn it on. The recommended cabinet printed in bold type in the following table will be the cabinet modeling type that will be turned on. When you use the bass synth (SYNTH), these control knobs will function as OSCILLATOR, FILTER, DIRECT LEVEL, and SYNTH LEVEL.

About the Intelligent Pitch Shifter

The Intelligent Pitch Shifter creates musically useful harmonies by varying the amount of pitch shift according to the note you play and the key in which you are playing. For example if you select a pitch shift of a 3rd upward in a major key (MAJ3UP), the amount of pitch shift will vary automatically between three semitones (a minor third) and four semitones (a major third). When MAJ3UP is used with a key setting of C The pitch created by the intelligent pitch shifter is shown in parenthesis ( ). The PX4B provides seven types of intelligent pitch shifting, with intervals of a 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. (For the 3rd, you can select either the upper or lower part, and a major or minor key.)
If your instrument is not tuned correctly, the results may not be as you expect. In this case, re-tune your instrument. The intelligent pitch shifter will function when you play individual notes. It cannot produce the effect for chords.

DLY (Delay Effect Modeling)

For each type, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have different amounts of feedback. The delay time is set by the interval at which you press the TAP button twice. The specified delay time can be a maximum of 500 ms for SLAP or a maximum of 2 sec for MULTI, and can be checked by holding down the TAP button.

Introduction
Merci davoir fait lacquisition dun processeur de multieffets personal pour basse PANDORA PX4B de KORG TONEWORKS. Pour lui assurer une longue vie sans incidents, veuillez lire attentivement le prsent manuel et toujours veiller utiliser lappareil correctement. Conserver le manuel dans un endroit sr afin de pouvoir sy reporter ultrieurement.

Systme IPE (de langlais Integrated Parameter Edit ou dition des paramtres intgre) Facilite le rglage des paramtres deffets. Slecteur de modelage d'amplificateurs et boutons de commande 10 types de modles d'amplificateurs et de synthtiseurs de basses peuvent tre slectionns rapidement et facilement. Emetteur infrarouges intgr Un casque d'coute sans fil, infrarouges peut tre utilis pour la surveillance distance sans fil. Ecran cristaux liquides rtroclair Lcran cristaux liquides (LCD) est trs lisible, mme dans des endroits sombres. Fonction daccordeur automatique Cette fonction facilite et acclre laccordage. Elle permet galement daccorder linstrument sans tre entendu (avec le son coup).

Le PX4B est un processeur deffets multi-fonctionnels et extrmement compact avec. Il facilite l'utilisation de la "technique de modelage " ", dont Korg est titulaire, pour crer des sons de modelages dtaills et puissants. 122 types de variations deffets Vous pouvez utiliser simultanment jusqu sept effets diffrents. 50 programmes utilisateur et 50 programmes prslectionns

Fonction de hauteur AUX Permet de transposer la hauteur du son d'un lecteur CD ou d'un autre appareil connect la borne AUX. Elle permet mme d'annuler sa plage des basses frquences (fonction de suppression des basses) pour s'exercer encore mieux! Fonction rythmique Le PX4B peut lire 100 motifs rythmiques (y compris le mtronome). Il permet galement de connecter des motifs multiples pour leur reproduction successive. Fonction de pratique des phrases (Phrase Trainer) Permet d'enregistrer le son d'un lecteur CD ou d'une basse (31,7 secondes maximum) et de le reproduire en boucle. Il est alors possible de ralentir la vitesse de reproduction sans modifier la hauteur du son. Cette fonction permet galement d'enregistrer simultanment le rythme slectionn dans le mode rythmique et la sortie de la basse.

Touche TAP Permet de rgler facilement le temps de retard (Delay) ou le tempo de la fonction rythmique et de basse pour qu'il corresponde au tempo du morceau. Disque de valeurs Permet de slectionner rapidement des programmes ou dditer des effets.

Quest-ce que la technologie

Le systme (de langlais Resonant Structure and Electronic circuit Modeling System) constitue une technique de modelage du son dpose par Korg qui reproduit avec prcision le caractre complexe et la nature tant des instruments acoustiques qulectriques ainsi que des circuits lectroniques dans des environnements rels. Le mule une vaste gamme des caractristiques de gnration des sons y compris des corps dinstruments, des haut-parleurs et des enceintes des champs acoustiques, des microphones, des tubes vide, des transistors, etc.

Mise sous tension

Retirer le couvercle du logement des piles dans le bas du coffret en le faisant glisser dans le sens de la flche. Introduire 4 piles alcalmes de format AAA comme indiqu sur lillustration. Veiller bien respecter les indications de polarit des piles.

L'adaptateur secteur n'est pas livr avec l'appareil. Il doit tre achet sparment.

Commandes et connecteurs
1 Boutons de commandes Ces boutons permettent de contrler la tonalit et le volume du modelage d'ampli. 2 Ecran d'affichage cristaux liquides (LCD) 3 Touche TUNE/BYPAS 4 Touche EXIT Cette touche permet de quitter nimporte quel mode pour revenir au mode de reproduction. 5 Touche ENTER/REC Cette touche sert activer/dsactiver un effet ou dmarrer l'enregistrement en mode de pratique de phrases.

Affichage de pile puise

Lorsque la pile saffaiblit, licne de la pile puise sallume. Dans ce cas, remplacer la pile ds que possible. Les programmes et les autres donnes ( lexception de celles en cours ddition) seront conserves mme lors du retrait de la pile.
Toujours retirer les piles puises du PX4B. Si vous les laissez dans lappareil, elles risquent dtre lorigine de mauvais fonctionnements (dus des fuites de produit, etc.). Nous conseillons galement de retirer les piles lorsque vous ne comptez pas utiliser le PX4B pendant une priode prolonge.

Si le PX4B fonctionne sur piles, son temps de fonctionnement sera rduit si vous activez l'metteur infrarouges ou le rtroclairage.

E Disque de valeurs Sert rgler le volume gnral, diter les effets et slectionner les programmes F Touche TAP Il est possible de dfinir le temps de retard en appuyant deux fois sur cette touche au rythme souhait. En mode rythmique, elle permet de dterminer le tempo rythmique de la mme manire. G Touches de mode Ces touches servent accder aux modes Rhythm , Phrase trainer ou AUX Pitch.

5 Icne de l'metteur infrarouges Cette icne s'allume lorsque l'metteur infrarouges est activ. 6 Icnes Edit/Original L'icne EDIT s'allume lorsque vous accdez au mode d'dition Edit. Si le paramtre ou la valeur en cours d'dition correspond la valeur crite dans le programme, l'icne ORIG s'allume. 7 Affichage du numro de programme / de la valeur Affiche le numro de programme. Lorsque vous modifiez le niveau principal (Level Master), sa valeur s'affiche ici pendant plusieurs secondes. Pendant l'dition, l'affichage indique les valeurs des paramtres. 8 Icnes Master/Value, barre graphique Lorsque MASTER est allum, le niveau principal du programme apparat de manire graphique. Lorsque VALUE est allum, la valeur du paramtre apparat en chiffres.

Premier essai
1. Lorsque les raccordements sont termins, mettre linterrupteur dalimentation sur la position ON. (Nous appelons ce mode le mode de jeu Play.) Utiliser les touches L/M pour slectionner un programme. 2. Rgler le niveau dentre la position adquate en fonction du niveau de sortie de la basse. Hi: Basses avec un niveau de sortie lev Lo: Basses avec un faible niveau de sortie 3. Mettre la commande de volume de la basse sur la position habituelle. Utiliser le disque de valeurs pour rgler le volume gnral. Lorsque vous dplacez un bouton de commande, le nom du paramtre et la valeur apparaissent pendant plusieurs secondes sur l'affichage des valeurs. Si le rglage correspond au rglage d'origine, l'icne ORIG s'allume. Il est galement possible de rgler le temps de retard du modelage du retard en appuyant deux fois sur la touche TAP l'intervalle souhait (sauf dans le mode rythmique et de basse). Pour vrifier le temps de retard assign, appuyez sur la touche TAP et maintenez-la enfonce pendant au moins deux secondes.
Lors de l'utilisation du slecteur de modle d'ampli pour slectionner un ampli, le PX4B slectionne automatiquement le modle d'enceinte le plus adquat et l'active. Les rglages effectus l'aide de la fonction d'dition rapide Quick Edit seront remplacs par les rglages d'origine du programme si vous changez de programme ou si vous coupez l'alimentation avant de les sauvegarder (voir p. 67).

Le mode de jeu Play est celui que vous utiliserez normalement avec le PX4B.

La fonction Bypass/Mute (contournement/assourdissement) se dsactive lorsque vous rappuyez sur la touche TUNE/BYPASS. Vous pouvez alors revenir en mode de jeu Play en appuyant sur la touche EXIT. Vous pouvez galement accder aux fonctions Bypass ou Mute partir d'autres modes que le mode de jeu.

Vous pouvez galement effectuer des rglages de sorte que les touches L/M permettent de rgler le volume principal (voir p.55).

4.Accordeur
L'accordeur fonctionne lorsque vous contournez ou que vous assourdissez le son.

3.Contournement/Assourdissement (Bypass/Mute)
Lorsque vous appuyez sur la touche TUNE/BYPASS, le PX4B est contourn et le son original nest soumis aucun effet. La chane deffets clignote et laffichage indique BYPASS pendant environ une seconde. Si vous appuyez sur la touche TUNE/BYPASS pendant plus dune seconde, le signal de sortie sera coup. La chane deffets se mettra clignoter rapidement et laffichage indiquera MUTE pendant environ une seconde.

Jouez une seule corde sur la basse. L'cran LCD indiquera le nom de la note et le calibrage. Si la hauteur est suprieure d'un demi-ton au nom de la note, le symbole dise apparat droite du nom. La zone daffichage agit comme un indicateur pour valuer la dviation de hauteur de la note.

Accorder la corde de la basse de sorte que le tmoin au-dessus de la marque centrale sallume. L'accordeur (fonction bypass/mute) se dsactive lorsque vous rappuyez sur la touche TUNE/ BYPASS . Vous pouvez galement revenir au mode de jeu en appuyant sur la touche EXIT. Calibrage (frquence de la hauteur du La standard) Vous pouvez utiliser le disque de valeurs pour rgler le calibrage sur une plage allant de La (A) = 438 Hz 445 Hz. Le rglage de calibrage effectu prvaudra jusqu la mise hors tension de lappareil. A la remise sous tension, le calibrage est rinitialis une valeur du La = 440 Hz.

5.Dfinition de la fonction du disque de valeurs

Vous pouvez dfinir la fonction du disque de valeurs en mode de reproduction. En mode de reproduction Play, maintenir la touche EXIT enfonce et appuyer soit sur la touche , sur la touche pour lui assigner les fonctions suivantes. G Maintenir la touche EXIT enfonce et appuyer sur la touche . Lcran affiche MASTER pendant environ 1 seconde. Le disque de valeurs permet de rgler le volume principal alors que les touches L/M permettent de slectionner les programmes. Vous pouvez utiliser le disque de valeurs pour rgler plus rapidement le volume principal. Chaque fois que lappareil est mis sous tension, ce rglage sera oprationnel. Rgler le

G Maintenir la touche EXIT enfonce et appuyer sur la touche . Lcran affiche PROGRAM pendant environ 1 seconde. Le disque de valeurs permet de slectionner les programmes alors que les touches L/M permettent de rgler le volume principal. Vous pouvez utiliser le disque de valeurs pour slectionner plus rapidement les programmes.

6. Fonction de verrouillage des touches

L'activation de la fonction de verrouillage des touches permet de dsactiver toutes les oprations, sauf la slection des programmes. C'est un moyen pratique d'viter toute manipulation accidentelle pendant une reprsentation en direct. Maintenir la touche EXIT enfonce et appuyer sur la touche TUNE/BYPASS. Lcran affiche KEYLOCK pendant environ 1 seconde. Les touches L/M permettent de slectionner les programmes et les autres touches ainsi que le disque de valeurs ne fonctionneront pas.

Pour modifier la fonction du disque de valeurs afin qu'il permette de rgler le niveau principal, maintenez nouveau la touche EXIT enfonce puis appuyez sur la touche ou remettez l'appareil sous tension.

Seule la slection des programmes est possible

La fonction de verrouillage des touches s'annule lorsque l'appareil est mis hors tension. Vous pouvez galement annuler cette fonction par le biais de "5. Rglage de la fonction du disque des valeurs" (p.55).

Mode de rythmes
Pour accder au mode de rythmes, appuyer une fois sur la touche RHYTHM en mode de reproduction (sauf en cas dactivation de la fonction dassourdissement/de contournement ou du verrouillage des touches), en mode dpitch auxiliaire ou en mode de pratique des phrases. Lorsque vous accdez ce mode, l'cran de slection des motifs rythmiques apparat, le rythme slectionn dmarre et l' icne du mode Rhythms'allume. L'indication graphique des valeurs changera en fonction du motif ou du tempo. Ce mode contient les quatre paramtres suivants. Utiliser la touche / pour slectionner les paramtres et le disque des valeurs ainsi que la touche TAP pour dfinir la valeur de chaque paramtre. Si vous slectionnez "CHAIN" en tant que motif rythmique, d'autres rglages de chanes de motifs seront disponibles (Voir p. 59 "Rglages des chanes de motifs").

Rgler le tempo sur une plage allant de 40 208 bpm. Vous pouvez galement rgler le tempo en appuyant deux fois sur la touche TAP au rythme souhait. Pour une armature de temps 6/8, vous pouvez rgler le tempo sur une plage de +/- 40 208.

Rglages des chanes de motifs

Ces paramtres s'ajoutent uniquement si vous slectionnez "CHAIN" comme motif rythmique. Appuyez sur la touche ENTER/REC pour accder l'cran de slection des paramtres de chanes (Chain Parameter Select). Utilisez les touches / pour slectionner l'emplacement (18) auquel vous voulez modifier le motif et utilisez le disque de valeurs pour slectionner le motif (p.80) qui devra tre utilis cet emplacement. Utilisez les touches L/M pour prciser le nombre (18) de rptitions du motif slectionn.

Mode de pratique des phrases

Vous pouvez enregistrer une source audio connecte la borne AUX ou une phrase joue sur la basse pour la reproduire de manire rpte, sous forme de boucle. Il sagit dune fonction particulirement utile pour sexercer en jouant sur la phrase qui se rpte. Vous pouvez aussi ralentir la vitesse de reproduction sans affecter la hauteur des notes, afin dapprendre plus facilement les phrases difficiles. Si vous slectionnez "JAM" comme mode d'enregistrement, le rythme indiqu en mode rythmique sera enregistr simultanment avec l'entre de la basse et il sera reproduit en boucle.

Si le mode d'enregistrement "JAM" est slectionn, le nombre maximum de mesures pouvant tre enregistres sera calcul automatiquement en fonction du tempo. De mme, la qualit audio se rglera automatiquement en fonction du tempo et du nombre de mesures spcifi.
Si vous slectionnez un long temps d'enregistrement (16 ou 32), la qualit audio de l'enregistrement sera moins bonne. Si le tempo du rythme est extrmement lent, il ne sera pas possible d'enregistrer un grand nombre de mesures. Veuillez dans ce cas respcifier le tempo en mode rythmique et de basse (la longueur maximale est d'environ 31,7 secondes).

Le mode d'enregistrement prsentera dans l'ordre les choix suivants chaque fois que vous appuyez sur la touche PHRASE TRAINER. AUX Enregistre uniquement l'entre AUX. BASS Enregistre uniquement le son de la basse. AUX+BAS Enregistre l'entre AUX et le son de la basse. JAM Enregistre le son de la basse avec le rythme slectionn en dernier dans le mode rythmique. Utilisez le disque de valeurs pour slectionner le temps d'enregistrement (pour "JAM", le nombre de mesures). 8 Environ 7,9 secondes. 16 Environ 15,8 secondes. 32 Environ 31,7 secondes. 1, 2, 4, 8 Nombre de mesures.

Dmarrer la lecture sur le lecteur de CD ou sur lautre source audio et, lorsque vous atteignez le point auquel vous souhaitez commencer lenregistrement, appuyer sur la touche ENTER/REC. Lenregistrement commence.
Si le mode d'enregistrement est " JAM", l'enregistrement commencera aprs une mesure de reproduction. Si, aprs l'enregistrement, vous souhaitez modifier le mode d'enregistrement ou le temps d'enregistrement, appuyez sur la touche PHRASE TRAINER pendant la pause de la reproduction.

Les donnes enregistres sont perdues la mise hors tension de l'appareil.

2.Enregistrement
Lorsque vous commencez l'enregistrement, le temps d'enregistrement apparat sous forme de valeur numrique et de manire graphique.
Si le mode d'enregistrement est rgl sur "JAM", le temps d'enregistrement ne s'affichera pas.

3.Reproduction
La phrase enregistre se reproduit en boucle. Pendant la reproduction ou la pause, vous pouvez utiliser les touches L/M pour slectionner des programmes.

Tournez le disque des valeurs vers la gauche pour ralentir la vitesse de reproduction sans modifier la hauteur. Vous pouvez choisir parmi six niveaux diffrents de vitesse de reproduction: 100%, 90%, 80%,75%, 66% et 50%. Pendant la reproduction, vous pouvez appuyer sur la touche [ ] pour revenir en arrire. En appuyant sur la touche PHRASE TRAINER, vous pouvez arrter le son en cours de jeu au moment o vous avez appuy sur la touche (fonction Hold). Cette fonction s'avre pratique pour pouvoir couter des notes individuelles au sein d'une phrase.

Pour arrter l'enregistrement, appuyez sur la touche ENTER/REC ou sur la touche [ ]. L'enregistrement s'arrtera et la reproduction en boucle dmarrera automatiquement. Si vous n'arrtez pas l'enregistrement, celui-ci continuera jusqu' ce que le temps d'enregistrement slectionn soit coul et la reproduction en boucle commencera automatiquement. Si le mode d'enregistrement "JAM" est slectionn, l'enregistrement se terminera automatiquement aprs le nombre spcifi de mesures et il passera la reproduction en boucle.

Lorsque vous appuyez sur la touche [ ], la reproduction sarrte provisoirement (elle se met en pause). Rappuyer sur la touche [ ] pour reprendre la lecture. Si vous appuyez sur la touche [ ] pendant que la reproduction est arrte (en pause), vous reviendrez au dbut de la phrase enregistre.

Mode de hauteur AUX (Pitch AUX)

Ce mode permet de transposer le son (la hauteur) d'un CD ou d'un MD connect la prise AUX. Il permet galement d'appliquer l'effet de suppression des basses pour liminer la plage des basses frquences. Appuyez sur la touche AUX PITCH pour accder au mode de hauteur AUX; dans ce cas, l'icne AUX PITCH s'allume. A chaque pression de la touche AUX PITCH, l'appareil alternera entre la transposition des touches seule et la fonction de transposition de la cl avec suppression des basses.

Pour renregistrer Pour renregistrer la phrase, appuyer sur la [ ] pour arrter momentanment la reproduction. Dmarrer le lecteur de CD ou lautre source et appuyer sur la touche ENTER/REC au dbut de la phrase souhaite. Si vous souhaitez changer le mode ou le temps d'enregistrement, appuyez sur la touche PHRASE TRAINER pendant la pause.

suppression des basses. Appuyez sur la touche EXIT pour revenir au mode de jeu PLAY.
La sortie se fera en mono en mode AUX Pitch. Le rglage AUX Pitch sera conserv la mise hors tension de l'appareil. Avec certaines sources d'entre, la fonction de Suppression des basses peut ne pas tre aussi efficace que vous le souhaiteriez.

Mode d'dition EDIT

Ce mode permet d'activer/de dsactiver chacun des effets, d'diter le type d'effet, les valeurs des paramtres et le nom du programme. En mode de jeu Play, appuyez sur la touche ou pour accder l'cran d'dition de l'effet DYNA (ou d'criture WRITE) en entrant dans le mode d'dition. Dans n'importe quel cran du mode d'dition, vous pouvez utiliser les boutons de commande pour diter le modelage d'ampli ou utiliser la touche TAP pour rgler le temps de retard du modelage Delay. Appuyez sur la touche Avant la sauvegarde EXIT pour revenir en mode de jeu. Si un programme Aprs la sauvegarde n'est pas sauvegard aprs son dition, le point dcimal de son numro s'allume.
Les rglages du programme d'origine remplaceront les rglages dits si vous changez de programme ou si vous mettez l'appareil hors tension sans sauvegarder (voir p.67).

Utilisez le disque des valeurs pour spcifier l'importance de la transposition des touches (possibilit de transposition sur une plage de +/- 1 octave).

Le bouton de commande du VOLUME peut galement servir rgler le VOLUME mme quand l'effet de modelage de l'ampli est "FX OFF" (dsactiv). Il est possible de slectionner et d'diter le type d'effet choisi l'aide du slecteur de modelage d'ampli sans accder au mode d'dition Edit. Lors de l'utilisation du slecteur de modle d'ampli pour slectionner un ampli, le PX4B slectionne automatiquement le modle d'enceinte le plus adquat et l'active.

4) MOD (Modulation et modelage de l'effet de filtre)

Il s'agit d'effets de modulation et de types de filtre comme le chorus, le flanger, le phaser et le pitch shifter.

Si vous augmentez cette valeur de manire excessive, le son risque dtre coup prmaturment, en fonction de lquipement raccord. Pour viter ce problme, diminuer la valeur de rduction du bruit. Rglez le niveau de rduction du bruit NR en fonction de votre basse ou de votre micro.

Laugmentation de cette valeur produit davantage de rduction du bruit. Normalement, il convient de la rgler de manire ne pas entendre les bruits perturbants lorsque les cordes sont lgrement assourdies.

Le rglage de l'metteur infrarouges est commun tous les programmes et il est conserv la mise hors tension.
La dure de vie de la pile est rduite lorsque l'metteur infrarouges reste allum. Ds lors, il est prfrable de dsactiver l'metteur infrarouges lorsqu'il ne doit pas tre utilis.

9) RENAME (Rassignation de nom)

Cotte fonction permet de donner un nom chaque programme. Il est possible dutiliser les caractres suivants: espace, 0-9, A-Z, , , , +, -, /.

pour slectionner un autre cran. Lorsque vous appuyez sur la touche TUNE/BYPASS, le programme dit est mmoris. Lorsque lopration de sauvegarde est termine, lcran indique COMPLT pendant environ une seconde.

Utiliser le disque de valeurs pour slectionner la destination dcriture (valable uniquement pour les programmes utilisateur). Lorsque vous effectuez cette opration, le nom du programme qui occupe ce moment la destination dcriture apparat brivement lcran. Si vous dcidez de ne pas mmoriser le nouveau programme, appuyer sur la touche (ou )

Avant de mmoriser un programme dit sous un autre numro de programme, vrifier si vous ne souhaitez pas conserver les donnes qui se trouvent dj sous ce numro de programme. Les donnes qui sont remplaces sont en effet irrmdiablement perdues. Il nest pas possible de mmoriser un programme sous un emplacement de programme prslectionn.

3.Rinitialisation aux programmes dusine

Mettre lappareil sous tension en maintenant enfonces la touche RHYTHM et la touche L . Lcran affichera la question RELOAD?. Si vous appuyez sur la touche ENTER/REC, les programmes dusine seront rechargs dans la zone rserve aux programmes utilisateur. L'affichage indique "RELOAD", "VERIFY", "COMPLT" pendant un court instant puis l'cran de mise sous tension apparat.
Si vous dcidez de ne pas recharger les programmes dusine, appuyer sur la touche EXIT. Les programmes dusine ne seront pas rechargs, lcran normal de mise sous tension apparatra et le PX4B sallumera en mode programme. Ne pas oublier que si vous rechargez les programmes prenregistrs d'usine, les programmes utilisateur et tous les rglages qui sont normalement conservs la mise hors tension (niveau principal, metteur infrarouges, etc.) seront tous remplacs. Ne jamais mettre l'appareil sous tension pendant une opration de rechargement de donnes.

Troubleshooting
Si le PX4B ne fonctionne pas comme vous lesprez, commencer par vrifier les points suivants. Si, malgr cela, vous ne parvenez pas rsoudre le problme, veuillez prendre contact avec votre revendeur ou avec un centre technique Korg. 1. Lappareil ne se met pas sous tension. Les piles sont-elles mises en place? Ou, ladaptateur secteur est-il raccord une prise de courant? 2. No sound Votre basse, lampli ou le casque dcoute sont-ils raccords aux bornes adquates? Lampli est-il allum et rgl correctement? Des cbles sont-ils abms? Le niveau principal du PX4B est-il mis sur 0 ou sur un faible niveau? Le bouton de commande du VOLUME est peut tre rgl au minimum. Le volume de la basse est-il rduit au minimum?

ILe PX4B est-il assourdi (le son est-il coup)? Ne pas oublier que, si tous les effets sont dsactivs, laffichage en chane disparat et lcran ne permet plus de diffrencier la fonction de drivation de celle dassourdissement. 3. Lors de l'utilisation de l'metteur infrarouges, il n'y a pas de son ou le son est dform. L'metteur infrarouges est-il activ? Y a-t-il un obstacle entre le PX4B et le casque d'coute? L'metteur du PX4B est peut-tre cach. Votre casque d'coute sans fil, infrarouges est-il sous tension? Dans certains cas, le son mis peut tre dform cause des rglages du programme. (Rglez le niveau principal et/ou le niveau du programme). 4. Le volume de lappareil raccord la borne AUX est trop fort ou trop faible ou nest pas audible. Etes-vous en mode de pratique des phrases? Quitter le mode de pratique des phrases.

ARgler le volume de sortie de lappareil raccord. Effectuer les raccordements la prise pour casque dcoute de lappareil plutt qu sa sortie de ligne. 5. Les effets ne sont pas appliqus. Le PX4B est-il contourn? (Dans ce cas, les tmoins de la chane deffets clignotent). Les effets utiliss dans le programme sontils activs? 6. Le tuner ne fonctionne pas. Etes-vous en mode Play, avec la fonction de drivation ou dassourdissement active?

A propos du Pitch Shifter intelligent

Le Pitch Shifter intelligent cre des harmonies musicalement utiles en variant limportance de transposition de la hauteur en fonction de la note joue et de la tonalit enfonce. Par exemple, si vous slectionnez une transposition dune tierce vers le haut pour une tonalit majeure (MAJ3UP), limportance de la transposition de hauteur variera automatiquement entre trois demi-tons (une tierce mineure) et quatre demi-tons (une tierce majeure). Lorsque le paramtre MAJ3UP est utilis avec un rglage de tonalit sur Do (C). La hauteur cre par le pitch shifter intelligent est indique entre parenthses ( ). Le PX4B fournit sept types de transposition de hauteur intelligents, avec des intervalles de tierces, de quartes, de quintes et de sixtes. (Pour les tierces, vous pouvez slectionner la partie infrieure ou suprieure et une touche mineure ou majeure).

Um einen langjhrigen problemlosen Betrieb des Gertes sicherzustellen, sollten Sie dieses Bedienungshandbuch lesen und das Produkt korrekt verwenden. Bewahren Sie das Handbuch fr den spteren Gebrauch sicher auf.

Amp Modeling und -Regler Sie knnen schnell und einfach zwischen zehn verschiedenen Verstrkermodellen und einem Bass-Synthesizer auswhlen. Integrierter Infrarot-Sender Der integrierte Infrarot-Sender bietet die Mglichkeit, fr das Monitoring drahtlose Infrarot-Kopfhrer einzusetzen. LCD-Anzeige mit LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung Die Anzeige ist selbst in dunkler Umgebung lesbar. Auto Tuner-Funktion Diese Funktion erlaubt einfaches und schnelles Stimmen der Ba. Das Stimmen kann auch bei stummgeschalteter Audioausgabe (also unhrbar) vorgenommen werden. Rhythmusfunktion Das PX4B kann 100 Rhythmen abspielen (einschlielich des Metronoms). AUX-Transposition und Bassunterdrckung Sie knnen das Audiosignal eines an der AUX-Buchse angeschlossenen CD-Spielers oder anderer Gerte transponieren (AUX Pitch-Funktion), und Sie knnen den Bassfrequenzbereich unterdrcken (Bass Cancel-Funktion) eine hervorragende Art, das Bassspiel zu ben! Phrase-Trainer-Funktion Das Signal eines CD-Spielers oder Ihres Bassspiels kann aufgenommen und als Loop (Schleife) abgespielt werden (maximal 31,7 Sekunden). Das Wiedergabetempo kann verlangsamt werden, ohne dass sich die Tonhhe verndert. Der im Rhythm-Modus ausgewhlte Rhythmus und das Basssignal knnen ebenfalls gleichzeitig aufgenommen werden. Tap-Taster Mit dem Tap-Taster passen Sie die Delay-Zeit und das Tempo fr die Rhythmus-Begleitung an das Tempo des aktuellen Stcks an. Batteriedeckel an der Unterseite der Bodenplatte entfernen, indem Sie ihn in Pfeilrichtung schieben. Legen Sie entsprechend der Abbildung vier Alkali-Mignonzellen ein. Achten Sie auf die korrekte Polung der Batterien.

Batterieanzeige
Wenn die Batterie nahezu erschpft ist, leuchtet die Battery Low-Anzeige ( ). Ersetzen Sie in diesem Falle die Batterie mglichst umgehend. Programme und andere Daten (auer den gerade editierten Daten) gehen im Falle eines Batterieaustausches nicht verloren.
Leere Batterien drfen nicht im PX4B verbleiben. Wenn Sie eine solche Batterie lngere Zeit im Gert lassen, knnen Fehlfunktionen (z. B. aufgrund einer ausgelaufenen Batterie) auftreten. Sie sollten Batterien auch entnehmen, wenn Sie den PX4B fr lngere Zeit nicht benutzen.

Ausprobieren
1. Nachdem Sie alle Anschlsse hergestellt haben, stellen Sie den Netzschalter auf ON. (Dies wird als Play-Modus bezeichnet.) Whlen Sie mit der L/M Tasten ein relativ unverzerrt klingendes Programm. 2. Stellen Sie den Eingangspegel-Schalter auf eine fr den Ausgangspegel Ihrer Ba geeignetePosition. Hi: Hohem Ba-Ausgangspegel. Lo: Niedriger Ba-Ausgangspegel. 3. Stellen Sie die Lautstrke an der Ba wie gewohnt ein. Stellen Sie die Gesamtlautstrke mit dem Endlosregler ein. Nheres zur Verwendung der Infrarot-Funktion finden Sie auf Seite 106 im Kapitel Edit-Modus, Abschnitt 8 TX (Infrarot-Sender).

Die Delay-Zeit der Delay-Algorithmen geben Sie durch zweimaliges Bettigen des Tap-Tasters im gewnschten Tempo ein (gilt nicht fr den RhythmMode). Zur berprfung der aktuellen Delay-Zeit halten Sie den Tap-Taster mindestens zwei Sekunden lang gedrckt.
Wenn Sie mit dem Amp-Modeling-Wahlschalter einen Verstrkertyp einstellen, whlt der PX4B automatisch die am Besten passende Lautsprecherbox aus und aktiviert diese. Nicht abgespeicherte Einstellungen bleiben im Quick Edit-Modus nur so lange erhalten, bis Sie das Pro-

Der Play-Modus ist die Betriebsart, in der Sie den PX4B normalerweise verwenden.

2. Master-Pegel
Leuchtet das MASTER-Symbol im Display, zeigt die zugehrige Balkendarstellung den Master-Pegel an. Verndern Sie diesen durch Drehen des Endlosreglers, erscheint der aktuelle Wert einige Sekunden lang im Display-Bereich fr Programm-Nummer/Parameterwert. Der eingestellte Master-Pegel bleibt auch nach Abschalten des Stroms erhalten.

4. Tuner

3. Bypass/Mute
Wenn Sie die TUNE/BYPASS-Taste bettigen, wird das PX4B in den Bypass-Modus versetzt, und das anliegende Eingangssignal wird nicht durch die Effekte bearbeitet. Die Effekt-LEDs blinken, und im Display erscheint fr etwa eine Sekunde die Aufschrift BYPASS. Wenn Sie die TUNE/BYPASS-Taste fr lnger als eine Sekunde gedrckt halten, wird das Ausgangssignal stummgeschaltet. Die Effektkette blinkt schnell, und im Display wird fr etwa eine Sekunde die Meldung MUTE angezeigt.

Sobald Sie eine einzelne Saite Ihrer Ba anspielen, sehen Sie im Display den Notennamen und die Kalibrierung. Liegt der angespielte Ton mehr als ein Halbton zu hoch, wird dies durch ein Kreuzchen oben rechts neben dem Notennamen angezeigt. Das Display stellt die Tonhhenabweichung dar. Stimmen Sie die Saite so, da die Anzeige ber der Mittelmarkierung leuchtet.

Durch Bettigen des TUNE/BYPASS- bzw. des EXIT-Tasters schalten Sie den Tuner ab und kehren wieder in den Play-Modus zurck. Kalibrierung (Frequenz des Referenztons A) Sie knnen mit dem Endlosregler die Frequenz fr den Referenzton A (Kalibrierung) in einem Bereiche zwischen A = 438 Hz445 Hz einstellen. Die Kalibrierungseinstellung wird gespeichert, bis das Gert abgeschaltet wird. Beim nchsten Einschalten wird die Kalibrierung auf A = 440 Hz zurckgesetzt.

5. Festlegen der Funktion des Endlosreglers

Sie knnen die Funktion einstellen, die der Endlosregler im Play-Modus hat. Halten Sie im Play-Modus die EXIT-Taste gedrckt und bettigen Sie wahlweise die Tasten , , um eine der nachfolgend beschriebenen Funktionen zuzuweisen. G Halten Sie die EXIT-Taste gedrckt und bettigen Sie die -Taste. Im Display erscheint fr etwa eine Sekunde die Anzeige MASTER. Nun knnen Sie mit dem Endlosregler die Gesamtlautstrke einstellen und mit den L/M-Tasten die Programme aufrufen. Auf diese Weise haben Sie ber den Endlosregler direkten Zugriff auf die Lautstrke. Diese Einstellung bleibt nach dem Ausschalten erhalten.

6. Key Lock-Funktion
Mittels der Key Lock-Funktion deaktivieren Sie smtliche Eingabemglichkeiten bis auf die Programmauswahl. Auf diese Weise verhindern Sie insbesondere im Live-Betrieb ein versehentliches Bettigen der Tasten. Halten Sie die EXIT-Taste gedrckt und bettigen Sie die TUNE/BYPASS-Taste. Im Display erscheint fr etwa eine Sekunde die Anzeige KEYLOCK. Nun knnen Sie mit den L/M-Tasten die Programme aufrufen. Der Endlosregler und alle anderen Funktionen sind deaktiviert. In diesem Modus knnen Sie ausschlielich Programme selektieren.

Der Rhythm-Modus
Bettigen Sie im Play-Modus (auer bei Stummschaltung/Bypass oder im Keylock-Modus), im AUX Pitchoder im Phrase Trainer-Modus die RHYTHM-Taste, um den Rhythm-Modus aufzurufen. Sobald Sie den Rhythm-Modus aktivieren, wird die Rhythm Pattern-Auswahl angezeigt, und im Display leuchtet das entsprechende Icon auf. Gleichzeitig startet die Wiedergabe mit dem aktuell angewhlten Pattern. Rhythmus bzw. Tempo des selektierten Patterns entnehmen Sie der Balkengrafik. 2. Tempo
Das Tempo kann in einem Bereich zwischen 40208 BPM eingestellt werden. Das Tempo knnen Sie auch durch zweimaliges Drcken des Tap-Tasters im gewnschten Rhythmus einstellen. Beim 6/8-Takt lsst sich das Tempo beispielsweise zwischen 40 und 208 bpm (Viertelnote) einstellen.

Der Reverb-Effekt im Rhythm-Modus ist identisch mit dem Baeffekt. Wenn Sie allerdings ein Programm ohne Reverb-Modeling anwhlen oder der Hallpegel 0 betrgt, zeigt der hier eingestellte Hallanteil hat keinerlei Auswirkung.

Phrase Trainer-Modus
Zeichnen Sie ein beliebiges, via AUX-Buchse eingehendes Signal oder eine selbstgespielte Phrase auf und lassen Sie sie als Loop (Endlosschleife) wiedergeben. Dies ist ein praktischer Weg, zu der sich wiederholenden Phrase eine schwierige Stelle zu ben. Die Wiedergabegeschwindigkeit lt sich ohne Beeinflussung der Tonhhe vermindern, um besonders komplizierte Stcke langsam einben zu knnen. Haben Sie als Aufnahme-Modus JAM ausgewhlt, wird die unter Rhythm & Bass definierte Begleitung automatisch parallel zum Basignal aufgezeichnet und lsst sich anschlieend ebenfalls als Loop wiedergeben.

Wiederholungen Position des Rhythmuswechsels

Insgesamt lassen sich bis zu 8 Patterns miteinander verketten. Bei Kombinationen von weniger als 8 Patterns selektieren Sie zum Abschluss PTN END. Durch Drcken der ENTER/REC-Taste verlassen Sie das CHAIN-Pattern-Auswahlfenster wieder.

wird die maximal mgliche Taktanzahl automatisch aus dem Tempo errechnet. Auch die Audio-Signalqualitt wird automatisch entsprechend dem Tempo und der angegebenen Taktanzahl ermittelt.
Je lnger die Aufnahmezeit (16 oder 32 Takte), desto niedriger die Audioqualitt. Haben Sie fr die rhythmische Begleitung ein sehr niedriges Tempo gewhlt, lassen sich entsprechend wenige Takte aufzeichnen. In diesem Fall sollten Sie in den Rhythm-Modus wechseln und das Tempo neu definieren (max. Lnge ca. 31,7 Sekunden).

Haben Sie durch Drcken der PHRASE TRAINERTaste den Phrase Trainer-Modus angewhlt, stehen folgende Aufnahme-Optionen zur Verfgung: AUX Aufzeichnung des AUX-Eingangssignals. BASS Aufzeichnung des Basignals. AUX+BAS Parallele Aufzeichnung von AUX- und Basignal. JAM Parallele Aufzeichnung des Basignals mit dem zuletzt unter Rhythm selektierten Rhythmus. Via Endlosregler bestimmen Sie die Aufnahmezeit (im JAM-Modus die Anzahl der Takte). 8 ca. 7,9 Sekunden. 16 ca. 15,8 Sekunden. 32 ca. 31,7 Sekunden. 1, 2, 3... Anzahl der Takte. Wenn der Aufnahmemodus auf JAM eingestellt ist,

Starten Sie die Wiedergabe am angeschlossenen CDPlayer (oder einer anderen Audioquelle) und bettigen Sie die ENTER/REC-Taste, wenn die Stelle erreicht wird, an der die Aufnahme beginnen soll. Die Aufzeichnung startet nun.
Im Aufnahmemodus JAM beginnt die Aufnahme nach einem wiedergegebenen Takt. 2. Aufzeichnung
Zu Beginn einer Aufnahme wird die mgliche Aufnahmezeit sowohl numerisch als auch grafisch im Display angezeigt.
Wenn der Aufnahmemodus auf JAM eingestellt ist, wird die Aufnahmezeit nicht angezeigt.

3. Wiedergabe
Die aufgezeichnete Phrase wird in einer Endlosschleife wiedergegeben. Whrend der Wiedergabe (oder auch bei aktivierter Pausenfunktion) knnen Sie mit den L/M-Tasten andere Programme aufrufen.

Anzeige der Aufzeichnungszeit

Mchten Sie die Aufnahme beenden, drcken Sie entweder die ENTER/REC- oder die [ ]-Taste. Die Aufnahme stoppt und geht automatisch in die LoopWiedergabe ber. Beenden Sie eine Aufnahme nicht auf oben beschriebene Weise, endet diese mit Ablauf der zuvor eingestellten Aufnahmezeit. Auch in diesem Fall startet die Loop-Wiedergabe automatisch. Im Aufnahme-Modus JAM endet die Aufzeichnung nach der vordefinierten Taktanzahl und geht ebenfalls in die Loop-Wiedergabe ber.
Aufnahme und Wiedergabe einer solchen Phrase erfolgen stets in mono.

Wenn Sie den Endlosregler nach links drehen, wird die Wiedergabegeschwindigkeit langsamer, ohne da die Tonhhe der Phrase gendert wird. Durch Drcken der Phrase Trainer-Taste wird der aktuell gespielte Ton gehalten (Hold-Funktion). Dies bietet sich insbesondere an, wenn Sie einzelne Noten einer Phrase heraus hren mchten.

4. Pausenfunktion
Wenn Sie whrend der Wiedergabe die [ ]-Taste bettigen, wird die Wiedergabe unterbrochen. Eine erneute Bettigung der [ ]-Taste setzt die Wiedergabe fort. Eine Bettigung der [ ]-Taste whrend unterbrochener Wiedergabe bringt Sie zurck an den Anfang der aufgezeichneten Phrase.

AUX Pitch-Modus
In diesem Modus knnen Sie die Tonart (Tonhhe) von Audiosignalen von CD oder MD transponieren, die an der AUX-Buchse angeschlossen sind. Sie knnen auerdem die Bassunterdrckung einschalten, um den Bassfrequenzbereich zu unterdrcken. Drcken Sie die Taste AUX PITCH, um den AUX PitchModus. Das AUX-Pitch-Symbol leuchtet auf, sobald Sie sich in diesem Modus befinden. Bei jedem Druck auf die Taste AUX PITCH schalten Sie um zwischen Nur Transposition und Transposition + Bassunterdrckung um.

Edit-Modus
Der Edit-Modus bietet die Mglichkeit, jeden Effekt separat ein- und auszuschalten sowie Effekttyp, -Parameter und Programm-Namen zu bearbeiten. Drcken Sie im Spielmodus die Taste (oder ), um die Seite zur DYNA -Effektbearbeitung (oder WRITE) aufzurufen. Im Edit-Modus haben Sie jeder Zeit die Mglichkeit, auf Amp Modeling-Regler und Tap-Taster zuzugreifen, um z.B. das Amp-Modeling oder die Delay-Zeit eines Delay Modeling-Algorithmus' zu verndern. Durch Drcken der EXIT-Taste wechseln Sie wieder in den Play-Modus. Haben Sie ein bearbeitetes ProNicht gramm beim Verlassen des gespeichert Edit-Moduses nicht gespeichert, erkennen Sie dies am DeGespeichert zimalpunkt in der ProgrammNummern-Anzeige.
Wenn Sie den Edit-Modus ohne Abspeichern der vernderten Einstellungen verlassen bzw. das Gert ausschalten, finden Sie beim nchsten Aufrufen wieder die ursprnglichen Einstellungen vor.

Via Endlosregler bestimmen Sie nun das Transpositionsma (max. +/- 1 Oktave).

In diesem Bereich finden Sie Modulations- und Filtereffekte wie Chorus, Flanger, Phaser und Pitch Shifter.

Durch Drcken der ENTER/REC-Taste schalten Sie den Infrarot-Sender ein bzw. aus. Die Einstellungen des Infrarot-Senders gelten stets fr alle Programme und bleiben auch nach Abschalten des Stroms erhalten.

Je hher der Wert, desto strker die Rauschunterdrkkung. Normalerweise sollten Sie eine Einstellung whlen, bei der Sie bei leicht abgedmpften Saiten kein strendes Rauschen hren.
Whlen Sie einen Ihrer Ba bzw. Tonabnehmer(n) entsprechenden NR-Wert.

Daueraktivierung des Infrarot-Senders bewirkt eine krzere Lebensdauer der Batterien. Sollten Sie den Sender gerade nicht nutzen, empfehlen wir, die Funktion abzuschalten.

Bevor Sie ein editiertes Programm speichern, vergewissern Sie sich, da Sie nicht versehentlich ein wichtiges Programm berschreiben, welches unter der selektierten Speichernummer vorhanden ist, da die vorhandenen Programmdaten berschrieben werden und verloren gehen. 3. Wiederherstellen der Werksprogramme

Halten Sie beim Einschalten des Gerts die RHYTHM-Taste und die L-Taste gedrckt. Im Display erscheint die Meldung RELOAD?. SWenn Sie statt dessen die ENTER/REC-Taste bettigen, werden die Werksprogramme wieder in den User-Programmbereich geladen. Im Display wird kurz RELOAD, VERIFY, COMPLT angezeigt. Danach erscheint die Begrungsanzeige.
Wenn Sie den Vorgang abbrechen wollen, bettigen Sie eine der EXIT-Tasten. In diesem Fall werden die Werksprogramme nicht wiederhergestellt. Der normale Einschaltbildschirm wird angezeigt, und das PX4B befindet sich im Play-Modus. Schalten Sie whrend des Reload-Vorgangs (Wiederherstellen der Werksprogramme) niemals den Strom ab. Beachten Sie, dass durch den Reload-Vorgang smtliche User-Programme und Einstellungen auch die dauerhaft gespeicherten wie Master-Pegel, InfrarotEinstellungen etc. berschrieben werden.

Fehlersuche
Wenn das PX4B nicht wie erwartet funktioniert, berprfen Sie bitte zuerst die folgenden Punkte. Falls sich damit das Problem nicht lsen lt, setzen Sie sich mit Ihrem Fachhndler oder einem Korg Kundendienst in Verbindung. 1.Das Gert lt sich nicht einschalten. Sind Batterien eingelegt? Oder ist der Wechselstromadapter mit einer Netzsteckdose verbunden? 2.Keine Klnge hrbar Sind Ihre Ba, Ihr Verstrker und/oder Ihre Kopfhrer an die richtigen Buchsen angeschlossen? Ist Ihr Verstrker eingeschaltet und richtig eingestellt? Ist ein Kabel defekt? Ist Master Level des PX4B auf 0 oder einen niedrigen Pegel eingestellt? Vergewissern Sie sich, ob der Lautstrkeregler auf die gewnschte Lautstrke eingestellt ist.

 Ist das PX4B stummgeschaltet? Wenn alle Effekte ausgeschaltet sind, verschwindet die Effektketten-Anzeige und die Bypass- und Stummschaltung ist auf dem LCD-Display nicht mehr erkennbar. Ist die Lautstrke Ihres Instruments zurckgedreht? 3.Bei Einsatz des Infrarot-Senders ist kein bzw. nur ein verzerrtes Signal zu hren. Ist der Infrarot-Sender aktiviert? Haben Sie den Strom an Ihrem drahtlosen Infrarot-Kopfhrer eingeschaltet? Von Fall zu Fall kann ein verzerrter Klang auch auf individuelle Programmeinstellungen zurck zu fhren sein. (Passen Sie den Master-Pegel und/ oder den Pegel des jeweiligen Programms entsprechend an.) Befindet sich ein Hindernis zwischen dem PX4B und den Kopfhrern? Ist der Sensor mglicherweise versperrt?

4.Die Lautstrke des an den AUX-Eingngen angeschlossenen Gerts ist zu hoch oder niedrig, oder das Signal ist berhaupt nicht zu hren. Stellen Sie die Ausgangslautstrke am angeschlossenen Gert ein. Verbinden Sie das Gert ber den Kopfhrerausgang (statt ber die Summenausgnge) mit dem PX4B. EIst der Phrase Trainer-Modus aktiviert? Verlassen Sie den Phrase Trainer-Modus. 5.Das Signal scheint nicht mit Effekten bearbeitet zu werden. Befindet sich das PX4B im Bypass-Modus (in diesem Fall blinken die Effekt-LEDs)? Werden die gewnschten Effekte im selektierten Programm verwendet? 6.Der Tuner funktioniert nicht. Ist im Play-Modus die Bypass- oder Stummschaltung aktiviert?

TYP (L/M-Tasten) Dieser Effekt erzeugt ein Signal, welches um eine Oktave niedriger liegt als das Ursprungssignal. Beide Signale werden miteinander gemischt, wodurch der Sound runder und balastiger wird. Werden zwei oder mehr Saiten gleichzeitig angeschlagen, so arbeitet der Effekt mglicherweise nicht wie erwartet. Gleiches gilt beim Anschlagen von tiefen Saiten. Der Intelligente Pitchshifter Der intelligente Pitchshifter erzeugt musikalisch passende Harmonien durch eine Variierung der Tonhhenverschiebung im Verhltnis zu gespielten Note und Tonart. Wenn Sie beispielsweise einen Pitchshifter selektieren, der die Harmonie groe Terz hher erzeugt (MAJ3UP), wird die Tonhhenverschiebung automatisch je nach gespielter Note zwischen einer kleinen Terz (drei Halbtnen) und einer groen Terz (vier Halbtnen) variieren. Wenn MAJ3UP mit der Grundtonart C verwendet wird: Die Tonhhe wird in (Klammern) angezeigt. Das PX4B bietet sieben verschiedene Typen des intelligenten Pitchshifters mit den Intervallen Terz (3), Quarte (4), Quinte (5) und Sext (6). Bei der Terz knnen Sie auswhlen, ob eine kleine Terz (Molltonart) oder eine groe Terz (Durtonart) erzeugt werden, und ob der erzeugte Ton tiefer oder hher als der Originalton liegen soll.
Wenn Ihr Instrument nicht korrekt gestimmt ist, knnen die Ergebnisse dieses Effekts unsauber klingen. Stimmen Sie in diesem Fall Ihr Instrument neu. Der intelligente Pitchshifter arbeitet nur korrekt, wenn Sie einzelne Noten spielen. Der Effekt ist nicht fr Akkorde verfgbar.

Using the strap holder Utilisation du support pour bandoulire Befestigen der Gurthalterung

Removal / Retrait / Lsen der Gurthalterung

1. Press the strap holder locking tab (C) in the direction of arrow (b) to release the lock. Appuyer sur le taquet de verrouillage du support pour bandoulire (C) dans le sens de la flche (b) pour dgager le taquet. Zum Lsen der Gurthalterung drcken Sie die Verriegelung (C) in Pfeilrichtung (b) nieder.

2. With the lock released, slide the PX4/PX4B in the opposite direction from when attaching it, and remove it from the holder. Lorsque le taquet est dgag, glisser le PX4/PX4B dans le sens oppos celui de la fixation et le retirer du support. Schieben Sie den PX4/PX4B anschlieend in die entgegengesetzte Richtung wie unter "Befestigen der Gurthalterung" beschrieben und ziehen Sie ihn von der Gurthalterung ab.
