Capsule

I am currently doing freelance proofreading, writing, and rewriting. I have written several novels, both fiction and non-fiction. Titles include Island of Sand, Golems Clone, Say Hello to Anna for Me, How to Make a Delicious Pizza Crust, and Thailand Travel. I have completed approximately 100 editing/proofreading assignments for large Japanese corporations. I am currently seeking proofreading/rewriting work that can be done over the Internet. I am a Californian, based in Thailand. I am reliable and detail oriented. The work will be logical and concise and correct. I can complete work on schedule. I taught English in Japan for 20 years. I am 50 years old. I arrived in Thailand about 11 years ago and since have had a variety of teaching experiences in Thailand. I have traveled throughout a lot of Southeast Asia. I am currently living in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. Teaching experiences in Japan include 1 year at a private English School as director, 4 years at two private high schools, company courses at major corporations, and private home lessons through an agency. I taught private lessons to an engineering company owner in Ebisu, Japan, and also taught an evening course with his employees. This civil engineering company was concerned with building highways and sewer systems with the government. I have written a syllabus for a college level class and have it in a notebook. I have also written a syllabus for three levels of kindergarten and have it in a folder. This year I set up a course syllabus for Mahidol Wittayanusorn, where I taught writing and speaking. I rather enjoy putting class plans together. I believe my extensive writing experience has helped me to develop a good method for teaching writing to Thai students: to teach them to write correctly and simply, without the grammatical confusion that is sometimes apparent at the high school level. I also have done various technical editing assignments in Japan and Thailand. I started teaching in Japan in 1982. During the time I was in Japan, although I was first and foremost an English teacher, I started doing freelance computer upgrade, repair, and instruction under the registered business name of Type Tech in Tokyo, Japan. I come from Los Angeles, California, USA. For seven years I have studied creative writing. I have several books available on Amazon. I have a large library of books on writing. I enjoy reading, walking, bicycling, swimming, and traveling to the islands of Thailand.
