The project aims to develop an intelligent home security system which can be activated by the owner in his absence. This system can automatically capture the image and store in an MMC card when it senses the presence of human beings. The device can be installed in front of the door or gate or building based on the owners discretion. The system sends sms using the GSM module attached to it when a visitor is sighted. Also the image is uploaded to the internet using the web-server installed in the system. The owner can view the image of the visitor/intruder in a webpage when the SMS is received in his cell phone. The device can be accessed anywhere in the world through internet using its IP Address. The images stored in the MMC Card can be read using a card reader attached to the PC. An intelligent home security system is the way to go if you are interested in keeping your home and your belongings safe from the wrath of burglars and other problematic intruders. It can be difficult to maintain a constant eye of protection on your home and your valuables. With this security system, however, you can keep tabs on your belongings while you are out and maintain an aura of security while you are at home. This digital security system consists of hardware and software components that collect and store the surveillance camera information into an MMC card. These surveillance images are then transferred to a PC or laptop and can be viewed later. The digital camera views the scene in front of it, broadcasts the images as a digitized signal over the Internet. These digital images can be recorded, displayed or retransmitted to anywhere in the world. A Passive Infrared sensor (PIR sensor) is an electronic device which measures infrared light radiating from objects in its field of view. PIRs are often used in the construction of PIR-based motion detectors. Apparent motion is detected when an infrared source with one temperature, such as a human, passes in front of an infrared source with another temperature, such as a wall.
MMC Cards are highly integrated flash memories with serial and random access capability. It is accessible via a dedicated serial interface optimized for fast and reliable data transmission. This interface allows several cards to be stacked by through connecting their peripheral contacts. These MMC Cards are fully compatible to a new consumer standard, called the Multimedia Card system standard define in the Multimedia Card System specification. The Multimedia Card system is a new mass-storage system based on Innovations in semiconductor technology. TCP and IP were developed by a Department of Defense (DOD) research project to connect a number different networks designed by different vendors into a network of networks (the "Internet"). It was initially successful because it delivered a few basic services that everyone needs (file transfer, electronic mail, remote logon) across a very large number of client and server systems. Several computers in a small department can use TCP/IP (along with other protocols) on a single LAN. The IP component provides routing from the department to the enterprise network, then to regional networks, and finally to the global Internet. On the battlefield a communications network will sustain damage, so the DOD designed TCP/IP to be robust and automatically recover from any node or phone line failure. This design allows the construction of very large networks with less central management. The GSM Terminal is an industrial GSM Modem for the transfer of data, SMS and faxes in the GSM networks. Industrial standard interface and an integrated SIM card mean it can be used rapidly, easily and universally as a dual band GSM Terminal. Its performance bandwidth and the robust housing make it easier to quickly implement new applications in areas such as telemetry, Tele-matics and remote control.
