First Picture: the credit goes to Public Archives of Canada, C-14159, photo was taken after the signing of the document. The purpose is to officially document this paper. It marks the moment of the joining of Newfoundland to Confederation. However, photo does not show that the approval rate for confederation was only won by a slight majority, and the oppose by some Newfoundlanders were not presented.

Second picture: The picture was taken during the construction of the Trans- Canada Highway. It is to show how grand the project was. It shows a precise moment in time and the changes of landscape it had made. It does not show the harms towards the environment.

Third picture: Credits of the photo goes to Public Archives of Canada, C-1015; photo was taken during Vincent Massey s term of service as governor general. The purpose is to impress viewers. The value is to show the formal appearance of a Governor General in that time. The photo does not reflect the discussion that occurred around his campaign; and it does not show his nationality as a Canadian born.

Forth picture: The picture was taken when Crew at CBC TV Vancouver are

about to film the title roll for the show Cuisine 30. It presents proof that Canada has its own TV network. (Im not sure of the value of this picture if you can help me a bit here..) It does not show the audience rating of CBC and the fact that most Canadians watch American TV shows.

Fifth Picture: Photo credits goes to Public Achieves of Canada, PA136706; photo was taken during the opening of the St. Laurent Seaway. The purpose is to impress the viewers with its great achievement. It shows the exciting phenomenon and crowds that celebrates that moment. It did not show the effort of the workers and does not give credits to their contribution of this project.

Sixth Picture: Photo credits goes to Public Achieves of Canada, C-47009; photo is taken when the final weld which completed the Trans- Canada Pipelines natural gas line from Alberta to Montreal, Oct. 10, 1958, at Kapuskasing, Ont. The purpose is to commemorate the finishing of the Trans- Canada Pipeline. It shows how workers build the pipeline. It does not show how close this project was about to be opposed; and it does not show the potential damage to the environment.
