Demographics:
There are over 700 students attending Ermel Elementary. Our ethnic make up is 67% Hispanic, 29% African-American, >1% Asian, 1.4 Anglo, >1% Asian. 70 professional staff members serve students in grades K-4th. 40% of our staff has Masters degrees. 59% of our teachers have between one and five years of experience. Teachers with 6-10 years of professional experience account for 18% of the population. About 15% of our teaching staff has between 11-20 years of experience, while less than 3% have taught for more than 20 years. These numbers include General Education, Special Education, Gifted/Talented, Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers. As well, Technology, Library, Music, Social Skills, and Physical Education teachers are a part of our learning community.
