PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE THE NUTRASWEET COMPANY, Chicago, IL 2008 - 2013 Spun off from Monsanto in 2000, manufacturer of consumer high-intensity sweeteners. VP Supply Chain Sourcing Established global supply chain strategic direction, developed people, led global strategic sourcing initiatives, developed cost control projects, and supported new product development efforts. Developed and managed direct reports responsible for sweetener food ingredients, chemicals, packaging, MRO, CAP EX, PPV, energy purchases, toll manufacturing, contract labor, transportation, warehousing, production planning, import/export logistics, indirect services, and direct material spends. Led grain and energy commodity risk management programs. Responsible for all major contract negotiation efforts.
Negotiated strategic contract that saved the sweetener business $1,800,000. Implemented grain futures hedging positions avoiding costs of $1,500,000 on a major commodity. Identified, developed and approved new Asian based source of sweetener intermediate saving $1,000,000. Led global team in establishment of sourcing strategies and execution of joint procurement goals.
