Military Assistant, Active/Reserve Component Integration Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASA (M&RA)), The Pentagon, Washington, DC 2008-Present Advise the Special Assistant for Training, Readiness and Mobilization and the ASA (M&RA) in policy development and oversight of Active and Reserve Component (AC/RC) integration in the Total Force Army. Identify barriers and problems to Total Force integration and develop innovative solutions to overcome legislative constraints, policy inequities, and regulations preventing efficient Army transformation. Leading member of several transformation efforts bringing transparency to the Army equipping process, human capital reform, enhanced medical readiness, integration of policies, and regulations governing the Army components into comprehensive ones promoting an efficient Total Force. Special Advisor to the Reserve Forces Policy Board (RFPB), an independent advisory board to the Secretary of Defense on issues impacting the reserve components. Managed the readiness funding for two key APS Unit Sets of equipment in strategically important NorthEast Asia (APS-4), and operationally important South-West Asia (APS-5). Once optimum readiness was achieved, transitioned to facilitate reform of the War Reserve Secondary Items (WRSI) program. Developed and managed a $975M budget that enhanced WRSI readiness at a reduced cost. Facilitated the utilization and reconstitution of key prepositioned unit equipment (APS-5) three times in support of critical combat operations during the wars in Iraqi and Afghanistan (OIF/OEF). Drastically improved the readiness of strategically important pre-positioned unit equipment (APS-4) by overseeing an interagency action plan to correct problems revealed by a Government Accountability Office (GAO) audit.

Established the first multi-command data linkage using the Strategic Management System data interface to provide an executive level common operating picture for APS readiness visibility, which was also used as an Army wide example of inter-agency data synchronization. Participated in a Lean Six Sigma project that developed creative solutions to systemic WRSI program problems resulting in substantial (over $512M) savings for American taxpayers, while simultaneously increasing the programs effectiveness. Oversaw the Armys Strategic Transportation Flow and specific key movements as well as both the combat and sustainment phases of the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
